its fun and weird, pretty cool game

Survival games were never my cup of tea, but this one is so extreme it's fun. This game is initially hard, as you have no idea what to do, and game does not tell you a lot - frankly, you need to watch some tutorial on YT, or read a bit of wiki. First, you are likely to die due to bleeding after being bitten by a feral dog, or even first scripted monster in the Cryo Lab, or hypothermia very soon after. Then you learn the basics - how to skin Dogman for fur (this addresses hypothermia), how to cook/cure meat to address the hunger, how to manage your inventory (creating first vehicle - Travois), getting and boiling the water, cleaning rags so you can patch yourself up after fight, and fighting itself, then exploring the world (time management is important, as you need to camp/sleep at night). I am currently at 12 hours, figured most of the basics, but I am nowhere close surviving for more than a week.

Well worth the money, better than many A-strategic titles! The big boys should certaintly look up for Blue Bottle Games as it offer a true strategic gaming experience and a rather oddly blend of Fallout, surivival, shock and awe, all in one with a strategic twist. Its Combining strategic planning and reusage of strategic thinking! Preplanning at it finest, the only drawback is a single save-game slot, but that is easly redeemed by manually copy/paste the save-game file in: AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\8HCTR2UE\localhost\GOG Games\NEO Scavenger. Dont forget to try the Demo first because its ..well, youll see when you played it!

If you got bored of dying by dissentry in Oregon Trail, try diarrhea with Neo Scavenger. So it's a true Rogue-like: die a lot until you manage to do something grand, like creating a weapon or having two identical shoes. Problem is that like most rogue-like it's pretty repetitive BUT unlike Rogue itself you're not exploring a dungeon and looting magical scrolls: you're roaming rather unexciting lands and finding rather unexciting bits of string and rags. Combat is better than Rogue but could be more detailed with aiming etc. Crafting is nice but in the end you end up repeating the same routines to try and stay warm and somewhat alive.
