Myst Masterpiece Edition

A world of mystery, surrounded by pathways to even more worlds to explore, with the ultimate goal to solve the riddles - Myst is the first of the Myst franchise from Cyan games. If you have played this game, continue on & get/play the rest. If you haven't - do so.

This is the gold standard in exploration puzzle games. It is incredibly difficult to figure everything out, but if you take notes, pay attention, and try new approaches, you will be rewarded with not only an amazing experience but an excellent story as well. ...and if you get stuck, you can always brute force a puzzle or two ;)

In the Myst series, the first one, and especially this reedition is awesome. The puzzles are really nice. It is not awfully hard (Riven is terrible in this particular aspect), the sceneries are really incredible, imaginative. The journals are a one kind of experience. The Myst universe is just magical ! And its books are damn cool. And when you have finished it you get a nice sense of achievement. In a nutshell, play it !

Back in 2001 I got my first computer at age 50. I was looking at pc games and saw Myst - no dying or running amok shooting everything, just exploring - cool, I thought. I loved it. Only thing I had trouble with was in the spaceship setting the sliders to the notes. Well I was hooked on pc gaming! Went on to play the rest of the series and other great games - Syberia series, Longest Journey, Schizm 1 & 2, etc. The only games outside of adventure games I tryed and liked were Tomb Raider Legend, Underworld & anouther that came out about that time. But Myst is the game that got me started. Thanks Cyan Worlds! I've bought all of their games except their first ones for kids. I keep Uru on my computer and go back to replay it regularly.

Exactly like when I first played this game. Love going through this world again.
