MK4 is my jam
Totally discovered by accident that this was finally brought to GOG after wishlisting it for the longest having already MK 1, 2, and 3 on here. Brings back lots of good memories playing on PS1 as this was one of my most favorite of the series growing up. Overall, runs very well on Windows 10, but one tip is at the start of the menu screen press alt F2 to bring up configuration screen where you can setup keyboard buttons or controllers. There is even a cheat that can be applied to single player by going into practice mode on menu, highlighting difficulty, then press and hold at the same time LK + block. Keep holding until you hear outstanding. Now you can choose easy fatalities, but can only pick one at a time. Once chosen at end of match press down and HP to use your chosen easy fatality.

My favorite MK game
I am aware that MK4 has a somewhat bad reputation among MK games, it's neither part of the classic 2Ds nor the 3D arena ones of the PS2 era. But for me along with MK9 is the best one. I am really into fighting games, even though I don't consider myself an expert. I just play for fun. But even back then I hated the first 3 MK games because of their unintuitive systems, outside of gore, cheats and lore they felt like a fighting game concept and not an actual fighting game with free flow combos, special moves etc. Enter MK4 that keeps the good stuff from the trilogy but also refines the gameplay by making combos waaaay easier to pull off. Also, it has a fatality cheat that makes even them easy to pull off. The number of characters is maybe lower than Trilogy and the graphics are obviously ps1 level but if you don't care about it you will get a super fast and fun fighting game. It has gamepad support, proper sound so it's definitely worth a buy for us old dogs.

A Glorious Mess
I was really glad to get the email announcement of this game finaly coming to GoG. CD Projekt did a stellar job of getting it all working, even including a Glide wrapper to enable 3dfx graphics. It's still Mortal Kombat 4, though, the absolute worst of the series in terms of balance. It doesn't mean the game isn't fun, though. In fact, once you start finding the weird junk, it becomes even more fun!
