Metroidvania, Dark Souls and Kirby
Momodora Under The Moonlight, a really good Metroidvania style of game, it takes some elements from Dark Souls like the grim atmosphere, chararcters and even some decisions you can make throught the game. It isn't a long game though, my first playthrought took about 4 hours to beat. As someone who doesn't like the genre too much, for example i find Hollow Knight very tyring after and hour or so, I liked this game and the diferent locations the team presented, the music is also charming, really calm tunes that helps you exploring the a much more enjoyable experience. The map isn't that big though, i'd say is fairly short but very well crafted one with lots of secrets and a unlock percent wich helps with orientation. There are lots of unlockables too. The Kirby and Dark Souls elements as i say in the title are mostly presented in the combat and story, a grim atmosthere mixed with cutie enemies you can beat with your sword or leaf as is presented in the game. Item descriptions, Inicivility Frames, Characters and lots more. The Combat in this game is really good, you have a short-range (sword) and a long-range one (bow) both help a lot, if you have the precition you could try using the bow from the distance or go full straight with the sword, the enemies can get stunlocked like in the soul series. but this seems to be more reminencent to a Kirby game stunlock wich gives more time to think what the next attack could be and the enemy being freeze for a short period of time before it activates again. The main character hitbox is also really big compared to the short enemies to the game sometimes presents wich can be a problem if you want to try a hitless run. In conclusion, it's worth your money and time? Yes, yes it is. You can beat this game lots of times and don't get bored from it, trying to beat the game as fast as possible is a challenge to try.
