Fun and Funny series!!
Might & Magic series is so fun and funny. I always loved playing it back in the day and I still do today. It made me giggle with the faces of our heroes on the hud. I also had a lot of fun saving the game before attacking a villager just to see them all get all angry faced and attack me. haha. Good times. For the time, the graphics were okay, nothing special but it did give that 3d exploration feel and I loved how free and open the game was to explore. Lots of story, humor and action. I collected a lot of gold from corpses of orcs and traveled the lands. Great adventures we had. lol It worked well on my 24mb computer. For some reason, looking back, I felt like there were more details to the graphics but I guess my brain filled the rest in. Now a days, for anyone new coming into this series, expect retro graphics but I tell ya, the game play is worth it! Let your brain do the rest and pretend you're back in 1998. <3 -Ginger

WHY DID IT END THIS WAY?
Might and magic 9, the first computer rpg I've ever played. I thought it was good at the time. I thought a lot of things were good when I was 9 years old. But playing this heaping pile of crap now just hurts. What's wrong with it? Tons of glitches, crazy difficulty, terrible graphics, terrible story and loads of padding. My god, I wouldn't have even RELEASED the game in this state. I understand it was rushed, but that leads me to the positives for it. 9's character system and skill point system is awesome. It's easier, simple, and surprisingly well implemented. Plus, the voice acting, while silly, can be pretty convincing. Some people got into character well, like Markel The Great. But, that doesn't save the game. Good lord, why this game even exists is just mind boggling. Don't buy this, just get the older games instead.

Sad but true
The other parts of this series that i have played (6-9) are amazing and in my opinion still hold up to this day, but this one , they tried to make the leap to 3d and fell flat on their face. The graphics look like the thief series, they just reusing jokes and humour from the other games and practically ruined the game play mechanics. i am honestly sorry to say this but avoid this one get the others, i have bought at least 3 copies of each of the others at one time or another, but this one - bought it once, actively looked for sidequests (and found next to none) then rushed to the end and didn't even finish because to the end it was painful to play. In conclusion - Get the old ones NOT THIS ONE.

Not as bad as some would have you think
Might and magic 9 suffers tremendesly from being an unfinished product. Compared to the old games it falls short, but for what it is Id say it is still an entertaining game. It feels and plays somewhat differently than the previous installments due to the 3d engine, dungeon design is really cool and the ridicolous humor in the game is sort of funny. However all the areas you visit feel sort of barren, bland and not very detailed, it is prone to crashing occationally and the voice acting is either often comical or very subpar to name a few issues I had with the game. So if you can look past its flaws and shortcomings Id say it is not a bad game, just feels a bit underdeveloped, so the question is if its really worth your time. I got alot of entertainment out of it, but I cant recommend it over some other might and magic games Ive played.
