To experience great adventures, you’ll have to take a step back in time.Might and Magic VII - For Blood and Honor brings back the fantasy role-playing genre with an enhanced game engine and thrilling gameplay. It brings to life a fantasy world replete with fearsome dragons, horrifying monsters and exotic races. This game has everything the experienced role-player desires, including new character classes, skills, spells, magic items and a compelling story that will keep you absorbed for hours on end. Might and Magic VII - For Blood and Honor brings to life the most fantastic, engrossing and intense role-playing experience ever created.
I play this game so many time that I still can remember almost all off the part include the Castle Bottle that we can found under the deep sea. Best of the best from series of Might & Magic I played. I play from MMVI - XI and nothing as impressive as the VII, the close one is the VI but we stuck at Master Level for the skill and VII gives the Grandmaster Skill, Castle to run, People to be your subject and freedom to choose you fate as the ruler of your land Harmondale. Sweet moment.
Possibly the best MM game, although I have yet to play through MM8. There's a "linear" main quest line, but you have a lot of choice as to when to do the main quests vs side quests, how to prioritize using skill points, etc. There are also many different character types to choose from: Knight, Sorcerer, Druid, Ranger, Hunter, Thief, Paladin, Cleric, etc. You also have to make a choice between taking the path of Light or the path of Darkness at a certain point in the main quest line, which means gaining access to either Light or Dark magic. One critique I do have is that the the conclusion/climax isn't very interesting/exciting. There's not much of a story there, really, nor a big exciting battle at the end, and the plot at the end seems quite disconnected from the beginning. There seemed to be something shady going on with a certain Lord, as seen through some intercepted messages, but that never did reveal itself. Still, it was lots of fun to play, and I'm looking forward to trying MM8.
M&M VI, VII, and VIII are my favourites, and I miss this kind of RPGs. I am not a big fan of isometric, or typical FPP with a single hero. This genre is gone for some reason. It makes me sad. Fortunately, I can still play this one. A bit outdated graphics, but still fun.
