To experience great adventures, you’ll have to take a step back in time.Might and Magic VII - For Blood and Honor brings back the fantasy role-playing genre with an enhanced game engine and thrilling gameplay. It brings to life a fantasy world replete with fearsome dragons, horrifying monsters and exotic races. This game has everything the experienced role-player desires, including new character classes, skills, spells, magic items and a compelling story that will keep you absorbed for hours on end. Might and Magic VII - For Blood and Honor brings to life the most fantastic, engrossing and intense role-playing experience ever created.
... (because most balanced) and overall one of the best, deepest and most engrossing RPGs ever. It would be so awesome if someone did a modern remake of it.
This is a good sequel to Might and Magic 6, like GOG description many people say this one was the best in series. But I think Might and Magic 6 is much better than this. I really enjoyed playing this after Might and Magic 6, but still it doesn't have the magic touch of Might and Magic 6. Engines are same, graphics are similar (except portraits for characters and npcs, Might and Magic 6 had real people portraits but this one has just graphics) but for me the content of Might and Magic 6 had such a different charm. Maybe it was because it was my first game in series. Also I didn't like Arcomage. If you played Might and Magic 6 you can enjoy it, but if I have to choose just one game from this series it has to be Might and Magic 6.
This game ironed out a lot of the issues with Might and Magic 6 making it a much more enjoyable experience. It's more streamlined and classes are more specialized. Skills like armsmaster give melee classes a bettler role, and healing spells are actually effective and don't just heal a sliver of health! The dungeons are nowhere near as elaborate as 6, but they also don't overstay their welcome as much.
The card game Arcomage is suprisingly addicting and there's lots to see and do on the continent of Erathia. The story also ties in with the Heroes of Might and Magic series so fans of HoMM2 and 3 will feel right at home (even if the lore is very convoluted). Siding with Avlee or Erathia (or even achieveing independence) is also a nice touch, along with choosing a good or evil path. Overall while it is a bit tough to get into I think it still holds up. Going from absolute nobodies on a scavenger hunt to lords of Harmondale to legends is a great time and really gets that feeling of classic adventure and RPG progression. A true classic definitely worth checking out.
