In the not-too-distant future. America has been torn apart by a savage force known only as the ‘Miasma’.
Meet Elvis, a young man brought to the mining town of Sedentary as a baby. Left by his mother in the care of a robotic older ‘brother’ and given a mysterious glove with which he can control the Miasma.
Join the brothers on a quest across a post-apocalyptic wasteland to find the answers they crave. Answers which may change the course of human history forever.
Haven't finished the game yet, but the characters and the world are really fun to engage with. The Gameplay is something to get used to but once you do it's very fulfilling
If you've played Mutant: Year Zero, this is an evolution. Many similar themes are explored, but with the Miasma in play.
I've found a groove with the game which I'm not entirely happy with: I try to use silent kills as much as possible.
"But why aren't you happy with that!?" - because I'd really like the option of "going loud" without it almost invariably backfiring.
I found MYZ very difficult especially given the resource scarcity and non-respawning of enemies, and this repeats a very similar gameplay loop in which I feel there's a "right" way to approach everything, and any deviation might as well be followed with a quick load.
It's a beautiful world, graphically, it's an interesting premise with characters I care about... But on my first playthrough I'm worried that despite having done side missions wherever possible and outranking the level it says is needed to complete the story mission, I'm not on top of it.
Add to that weird UI controls (just like MYZ - why not let me edit a gun outside the personnel page? Why is right-click back sometimes and ESC reached for at others?) and I've mixed feelings about it. Positive mixed feelings, but not 5*-would-recommend-to-anyone feelings.
I just must recommed this game, though I wish so badly that this was a real RPG, like once Bioware used to make. I could put everything I don't like as "cons", but would be unfair, this game it is what it is, sadly. And while I don't like "post apocaliptic", don't like that I can't modify my character looks, can't stop it being negative at times, can't make it kinder to Jade, can't make Diggs to talk less and the list goes on and on: I still rate this game with 5/5. Of course I'm not into the fight parts either, just love great stories, and this got only decent story so far, but started to enjoy the fights, because it's so smart. Very good fight AI. Can be beaten, isn't quite human level, but it's more fun this way (I could propose changes to make the AI got better results, but that would make it more annoying to play against, so I agree that less is more in this case).
Great performance and no bugs so far, I'm about 15~ hours in, taking it slowly. I got top system with 4090 water cooled, but this is turn based so I limited to 30 FPS in game and 33 FPS in Nvidia CPL. Graphics all Ultra, in windowed 3440 x 1440 (my 4k screen is too big, so I game in smaller window), uses only ~10% of CPU, 2 to 5 GPU, ~3 GB RAM (out of 64). Smooth and polished performance wise, on latest upgrades Win10 64bit + 528.49 Nvidia (it's an older driver, in case anyone has issues with newer ones).
Only ONE warning though: easy difficulty is not easy enough, by far. One would need at least 1000 HP, or even more, to really be "story mode", and even than you would have to think and work. But if this is the only reason that would make you skip this game, know that there are ways to edit your save game. I don't see any reason why the devs should not include an option to have like 5000 HP bonus for your party members. Fun is subjective. Don't lose players for being stubborn, understand that some wants it even more difficult, but not everyone.
Awesome game, lots of satisfaction, variety of terrains (except of course miasma, which is everywhere), a little bit small choice of weapons (in terms of usefulness), clear characters you can get into their characters :). NPCs with their own character which you can "feel".
Greetings

I do not own the game here.
Game started glitchey but they responded and sorted some stuff out [ though not all has been fixed ].
If you read most of the reviews they compare it with mutan year zero .. Nobody even mentions Corruption 2029 .. same game type , same mechanis , just different button setup.
What is a shame is the discount. Don't get me wrong, its good for whoever wants it, just after less then 2 months to have the game 40% off means sales didnt go as expected .. Price was high to begin with anyway.
Story is not new, nothing out of the ordinary.
But oh damn, all them Unreal errors ...
Game is decent once you figure out what the meta is .. then you simply clear the map in seconds. Jade with the crit kill shots becomes a decimator .. my 2 cents.
