MegaRace is an AOG!
An "Awesome Old Game" best old racing game evar in my opinion! back when I was in elementaary school this came in a game pack with our packard bell.. this game was so fun!!!!!! adn yes Lance Boyle added a lot ofcharacter to the game!!! I am purchasing this right now!

Pure fun, even after all this time
I still have this game in CD but i bought as soon as i saw it om GOG. This is a lot of fun, and Lance Boyle (the presenter) is the best thing about the game, he gives a lot of atmosphere. I never played megarace 2 so for the price this is an awesome deal.

Old School 90s PC Fun
MegaRace 1 has the awesome gameshow cutscenes and the great music, along with some engrossing worlds and great music. MegaRace 2 has much more refined controls.

Charming and Cheesy.
There are decent FMV-based games, there are okay FMV-based games, and then there are legitimately great FMV-based games. Megarace 1+2 fit into that third category. The host, Lance Boyle feels like he was ripped straight out of the world of those cheesy TV shows seen on the first Robocop film. He gives these games their personality. The gameplay itself is combat racing. You win by greasing your opponents. Its face-paced arcade fun. The tracks themselves are actually looping FMVs, This is a bit less obvious in the first game, because the cars are also pre-rendered, where as in Megarace 2, the cars are textured polygonal models. They're both great fun, but the first one has that really good old-school MS-DOS charm to it.

Wow! A real golden oldie!
Man, I played the original on my 3DO and loved it. A really zany, wacky arcade racer. Not my usual fare, but I liked it. Never thought I would see it again. It's worth $6 for the nostalgia rush alone! ;) This is a great "I've got 1/2 hour to kill" kind of game. You can just pick it up and play and have fun. The graphics must be dated (I have not downlaoded it yet) but who cares? It's the price of a burger! There was a lot of experimentation and originality going into games during this time. In game video was new (and primitive) but often used to better effect than in modern games. Lance Boyle really is a hoot! Gotta have it. ;)
