Failed revival for multiplayer
Graphics Good, voice actors outstanding, Storyline very good. Definitely worthy of the series. In singleplayer mode it even is a decent game. Compared to other younger 4x franchises not to complex. But unfortunately for me multiplayer is a must. Singleplayer gameplay becomes to predictable and boring. That's the point where the game turns into a disaster. There is no crossplatform multiplayer. So no multiplayer between gog and steam users. And that despite the fact that wargaming has multiplayer services for their other franchises. And if that's not enough, they never got tactical combat working in multiplayer games. So even if you have friends on the platform you bought the game to go multiplayer, battles turn into a boring window of statistics.

Lifeless
The atmosphere alone makes this a ridiculous title. If it didn't slap the Master Of Orion name on it, this would be a decent intro to modern space 4x games for people just getting started. With that said, if you think back on the rich atmosphere of Moo2, the characters, the music.. then look at this?? Oh no. No thank you. There is so much more to say, but that alone.. 2 stars.

Great game with NO DRM
There are a ton of reviews panning the game for its DRM, it has since been removed though so don't worry about it anymore and ignore the numerous 1-star reviews getting mad at the game for DRM. This game is basically Master of Orion II made simpler but also has its own feel, streamlining mechanics of previous games, and a TON of personality. I would not say it is better than the game it feels so much like, but it is just as good. You have a selection of all the original Master of Orion races, and unlike in that game everyone is actually balanced. The Psilon are no longer unstoppable and the Mrrshan are actually useful. The game looks gorgeous and the UI is much easily to get a handle on than MoO or MoOII. The game's biggest strength is its character and world, all the alien leaders have a ton of personality and perfectly represent the race's they rule. The world feels more alive than in previous game and the advisors are actually endearing and feel helpful (unlike in other 4X games), this is all helped with the game's EXCELLENT voice acting and all-star cast. The one true flaw of this game is oftentimes it feels more like Civilization than Master of Orion in how it plays, however even then I think it helps the game more than hinders it. If you are a newcomer to the Master of Orion franchise or If you enjoyed Master of Orion II, but wish it looked nicer, had less micromanagement, and had a gentler learning curve then I highly recommend this game. It doesn't break boundaries, but is is just an all-around excellent sci-fi 4X game that is the true Master of Orion III.

Good idea but unfinished
There is no mission pack / campain that would give a game story or anything that would make you want to play it so it will be boring after some time. Battle mode is medium/ok if small fleets are fighting but when fleets become bigger game is crashing no matter how strong or good pc you have. Keep in mind that ships in battle mode are moving in 2D so no elevation moves like f.e. homeworld and if you try take command of the ship, you are going to have terrible time to win even excellent chance to win rate match. Game works for two weeks then crash ... unable to play again / won`t play again. Big plus is race interaction and diplomacy in game. race characters are made properly and diplomacy is effective and match race descriptions. Players do have choices to make regarding tactics {research, builds or population} and have to learn how to use this for advantage. Game could have great potential but it seems to be unfinished, and technical difficulties are ruining even the few good things this game has.
