One of my favorites
Even though I own the much newer game, this one is one I ALWAYS come back to. Personally, I think the pixel art is amazing for its time and I truly believe that if they were to make this in more modern pixel art with increased gameplay options, something similar to the caster of magic stuff, this would be an excellent sequeal.

Excellent Fantasy turn based strategy
Choose from many premade Magicians or create your own custom one with a variety of magic or starting bonuses to pick from. This game had me when it first came out and can still pass 5 hours by without noticing. The difficulty selection and amount of customization surrounding each game makes the replay value nearly endless. I can say this was and still is one of my all time favorite games.

One of the best strategy games ever
Wonderful game, made me join GoG the first time. Its Magic system is still awesome, heroes unforgettable, magic item are amazing, and the enemies occasionally still surprise me with their strategies. Being an ancient game ('94) empire management can be very slow, especially when your empire has grown very large. That's why almost every MoM fan is being expecting a _SEQUEL_ since 1994. Hope it's coming one day or another.....

Still as good as I remember.
Over the years I've tried desperately to get a copy of this game that works. Now I finally have an optimized copy and it's even more engrossing then when I was a kid. It's wonderful that they include the manual and spell book,. The addition of the soundtrack is truly the icing on the cake. This is real music, not MIDI. My only wish is that they had somehow replaced the in-game music with this.

Best. Game. Ever. I've been playing PC games since 1985 (Starflight was my PC first game) and this still stands as my favorite PC game of all time.
