OLD game, Fun game, Hard game
Played this game when it first came out,and loved it. The graphics are totally outdated and the car mechanics are not good. But the story is excellent on how your character goes fully into the family One note on the race mission; There is a cheat in the game (early on you will see a side track on drivers side before you hit the big L) If you time it right you can just use the "shortcut" and cheat your way into victory, am sure youtube will show you how. On another mission at the out of town gas station-shoot the tires on the yellow car next to you, when the guy takes off he will have some flat tires which should help you in the chase. Ah the shootouts-Farm outside of town, car garage, hotel/rooftop/church makes up for the driving. Some of the missions are hard (racing, dynamiting hotel, end mission) but was very pleased overall.

Old game with the difficulty set to max
This isn't a modern game. It has a poor combat system, the health does not regenerate like in COD games. The graphics are old and dated. You have to also manually add the music back (see the forums). But what it does have is a good story, good driving, good memorable (even if repetitive) music. Yes, you can get the definitive edition, which is probably better overall, but then again, I do like this more because of the story. I think Tommy is better written in this than in the newer version. I played both versions and this one is more memorable. This one is the harder game to play, less fancy, with less swearing. Not that I mind the swearing, it is a game for adults, but somehow I appreciated the fact that it's not an F BOMB factory. This game is delicate, like a lady, it needs a lot of effort to fully enjoy. It is something they talked about like they talk about GTA. It is a piece of history. I like it, but I do not recommend it to people who do not like hard games. YOU WILL REPLAY SOME LEVELS OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you learn the tricks. I give it 4 stars overall, while the newer version gets a 4.5.

A Forever Classic
One of the all-time greats when it comes to a video game. The asthetics of the city of Lost Heaven, featuring multiple historical buildings from numerous cities. The glorious composed music by Vladimír Šimůnek and features of songs by Django Reinhardt, The Mills Brothers etc. While it may seem a bit jank to many, don't let it dissuade you from playing.
