If you like the genre, buy it - you won't be disappointed, unless you expect cutting edge graphics. This game (talking about LOTR2 here) has you doing some resource management which can be a lite touch or more involved as you prefer, all through an effective but simple UI. Ultimately your resources enable you to raise armies to defend and expand your realm. Different maps and geography pose different challenges. Battles take place in realtime and allow satisfying use of tactics. Castle seiges add another dimension with structures, siege weapons and a capture the flag objective. As other have said, the game, while simple, is surprisingly deep. Its satisfying and replayable. The AI is good enough but you're always going to be able to out play it once you work out its weaknesses. Show me a modern game where thats not still the case! The theme is executed very well, particularly through good music and sounds. A great game that could teach many modern games a thing or two about fun!
