Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader

after that you have a wonderfull RPG half voiced but its okay, lots of options to screw up and choose from

Have fond memories of this game. As fun as it was back then.

Lionheart has potential. But that's about all it has. What could have been an interesting and original RPG turns out to be half a game. While the first few hours of the game have some depth and interest in them, once you exit the city it's just fighting. And fighting is not Lionheart strong point. Its strong point is the interesting setting, the historical twist and mixing it up with historical characters like De-Vinchi and Machiavelli. But sadly, these moments are too few. Maybe with an added year of development it could have become a good game, as it is, it's very far from it.

The setting is interesting, in an alternate universe that a demon gate spawns during the crusades. Making both Christian and Muslim armies stop fighting each other and start fighting demons. The story starts well. The game play reminds me of divine divinity. Good balance at the start. But then, after a certain point in the games it turns into a lousy unbalanced game play. With much less RPG aspects. This game was made Interplay had money problems, thus game was rushed as a result in an incomplete state, an unfinished work of art with a lot of potential. If someone where to find the original story and design documents, this game do deserves a proper remake.
