Short, sweet intro to adventure games

This game is intended to introduce the adventure game genre to people who have never seen, played, or heard of one before. Most people who buy games from GOG don't fit that profile. This is a great game to play with a child, or an adult who doesn't play computer games much and adventure games not at all. It is NOT a great game, nor even tolerable, for experienced, dedicated gamers to play alone. It's too short, and has no replayability. It is very beautiful, but $9.99 is too much to pay for the beauty alone. Get it on sale, and use it to get someone you love interested in adventure games. I found some of the puzzles very tough. The hint system is interesting; it consists of blinking circles indicating where clicking will make something happen. There is one place in the game where one of the hints can be misleading; it shows where to click if you have the goggles, but if you don't have them, nothing useful happens there. That one should have been turned off when you don't have the goggles.

Little charming game

A charming adventure game with beautiful locations, relaxing musics and puzzles for everybody. Maybe not long, but a genuine experience looking forward to the sequel.

A true gem

I've played a lot of adventure games over the years, and I can't remember the last time I enjoyed one this much. Both the graphics and music create a world of beauty and wonder. The puzzles are fun and I enjoyed seeing how changes I made in the past affected the present, and how that is part of the puzzles. I found the puzzles to be neither too easy nor too hard. Some of the puzzles did take me a long time to figure out, but they were always enjoyable. The game has a built-in hint feature, but please do yourself a favor and don't use it. The game will end much more quickly if you do. All of the puzzles can eventually be solved without hints through exploration, perseverance, and trial and error. There is more than one puzzle involving color, but those puzzles are not exactly identical. One involves the use of 6 colors and the other involves the use of 3 colors, for example. As for the amount raised on Kickstarter, they did raise more their the goal, but still, $33K is a mere pittance for a video game. Most games from major developers cost well over a million dollars to produce, and one recent Kickstarter game raised over $3.3 million. In all, the designers of Lilly did an outstanding job with what little they had to work with. This is one of my all-time favorite games at any price.

The little game that couldn't

As others have posted, the game feels way too short. The puzzles have been well done to me but the entire game's length has been more due to unskippable animations than actual gameplay. It's enjoyable as a short romp due to the art, the cuteness, and the ethereal quality but past that, it falls short of anything deep. I would hold off buying unless it was on sale. The length can't justify the price.

Charming but hollow

It seemed like an interesting little gem from afar. I got drawn by the puzzle proclamation. Sure, Lily looking through, offers you just that. Puzzles (and not a lot, mind you). Also, throw in beautiful art and aerie repetitive music just to seal the deceptive deal. No real story though (maybe I'm missing the big picture or in that case, the minimalist setup). I don't really mind almost-dialogue-free games. I guess it serves a purpose of immersion (?) but badly incorporated in this one. The end... Cliffhanger? Unfinished? Episodic plan maybe. Who knows and who cares? For sure, I won't be around if ever there's a follow-up. Bottom line, Lily looking through is a great effort of Indie gaming but it didn't really feel completely fleshed out. So short and not worth the hour or so put into playing it. Hence, making you more frustrated through out the whole ''experience'' and just plain disgusted at the end. My opinion here.
