Made with love but not Lowe
If you've played the original Larry games up to 7, you know what I mean with the title. If not, here goes: - Blatantly placing phallus formed objects everywhere doesn't make up for missing satirical humor. - Larry forgot his main goal, to "lay some chicks" and entertainingly fail at it, instead of running errands for random people you can't like from the start. - Even if most adventure games have moments where you start to frantically combine all objects with one another to advance, this shouldn't be the case all the time. - Some jokes are based on German tongue-in-cheeks which an international audience will not understand. Kinda dumb when wanting to be the spiritual successor to the original US games. That said, there's still a lot of effort put into this. Especially Jan Rabson reprising his role and nailing it again brought a tear to my eye. And the initial story idea of a time travelling leftover Larry is great - it just goes down the drain pretty quickly. On another note, people complaining about apparent "political correctness" having "ruined" this game are just hilarious. Sure, you can blame everything on copy-pasted Twitter hysteria, or you just realize the actual mistake made in this game: That Al Lowe did not participate in writing it.

A solid Leisure Suit Larry game
Leisure Suit Larry (LSL) Wet Dreams Don't Dry had big shoes to fill when compared to the previous games in the series. For me, LSL 7 (Love For Sail) was the "actual" last game in the series that pushed the story of Larry Laffer forwards. Wet Dreams Don't Dry does a great job of introducing Larry to a newer audience, while also giving older fans of the series something new to sink their teeth into. This game is beautiful. The team at Assemble did a great job at making sure that the visuals are clean and cohesive, the animation and sound is good. and the game is entertaining and fun to play. It took some time for me to get used to seeing Larry as a tall person with a head that matched his body. Now I cannot imagine Larry looking any different. Personally, the only real issues that hindered my experience were a few frustrating puzzles that had me back tracking to the same locations numerous times because it was not clear enough what I needed to do next to progress further which forced me to click on everything I could until the correct item or combination of items were clicked and an odd bug where in game events would not trigger always trigger. I recommend this game if you are a Leisure Suit Larry fan or are looking for an out of the ordinary adventure game.

Bad adventure game logic and weak jokes
When playing point and click logic you have to take things in stride, realize it's a game with silly characters doing absurd things. Sometimes the puzzles are weird and defy logic, but they at least make sense within the context of the game world. This is all too often not the case in Wet Dreams Don't Dry. I cannot count the number of times I screamed in frustration "that was the solution?" So many of the puzzles lack any form of context or hint and the only way to discover them is by mashing items with eachother or with the scenery. This is an adventure game sin, and just poor design. To add insult to injury the game only has jokes that will offend the smallest number of people, and can be boiled down to: "Wow that's silly isn't it? roll your eyes now!" or "Look! An internet stereotypes!" The supposedly raunchy humor is overall a disappointment. Yes a few made me chuckle, but for the most part it all felt more in line with school yard shock value as opposed to actual adult jokes. Check out the original Leisure Suit Larry games instead, you're not missing anything here.
