RogueDefender
Each run will be different but players will keep some of their Master's bonuses between runs. Like we've already mentioned, our game is a mix between Roguelite and Dungeon Management. How did we achieve that? By running many tests to find the perfect balance between management and dungeon phases!
Dungeon Phase
First, you will have to plan your defense against a group of adventurers. Check their stats and resistances, then place the best traps and monsters to defeat them! When you think your dungeon is ready, let the crawl begin!
You will then be able to watch those heroes die! It's a reversed dungeon crawler: heroes will move through your dungeon and will trigger the traps you placed. When a group of adventurers encounters a group of monsters you positioned in your dungeon, a turn-based fight will happen!

in opposition to some negative reviews I do believe the game is not as random as it seems; the stats are all there, one just has to find and understand them.
like, speed, resistance, damage type etc pp.
what struck me as weird was the traps and spells "rooms", which basically is just one action to deal some minor damage or play an effect. the "real" game is the fight monsters vs heroes.
at a discount, it´s okay to get. it feels like a mix of darkest dungeon and slay the spire, where both games are better at what they do, but this is ok!
There's definitely some fun to be had with this game. It's up to personal preference if you want to overlook the obvious flaws it has.
All the upgrades, especially the "Master" talent tree, are garbage. There is absolutely zero perceptible increase in power whenever you level up. Oh you wiped during the last run? No worries! You can have an extra round of 10% damage reduction! You can get +10% chance of getting an insignificant buff! The possibilies!
The same applies in the "Master power" reward you get for certain encounters. Like, you do 5 more damage with one specific attack. For reference, high level enemies have around 700 hp.
And also poorly balanced like I said. Not enough gold to keep up with the later campaigns. Even if you spend ALL your gold on upgrading monsters, without purchasing additional ones (which is another big problem itself, since you're gonna run out of motivation very soon), you're gonna have level 3 monsters vs level 5-6 adventurers. They're gonna wipe you in 2 or 3 rounds and not receive any significant damage.
I enjoy playing this game; I like when games take the spin on things of playing evil against the "heroes," though it's not exactly unique it's the less common approach, which gives it an edge.
Striving to beat the adventurers with the best combos of your monsters while managing money/blood/tears to use to the best adventage takes some effort: will you upgrade traps or monsters, dare you risk taking the deal from the event, what action will give you the most cash, etc. It keeps things interesting.
That said, if you dislike grinding you may hate this, as you are pretty much just repeating the same things over and over - choosing your teams for battles and picking between the couple options of actions each week.
It's a "nice little one".
Appealing pixel-graphics and animations.
Appreciated mechanics, perfectly in theme with this genre.
But "it has its thorns". Big ones for me.
Firstable, i still have a lot of troubles making it run: 8 time on 10, unity founded something wrong at startup. (this is the main reason of my stars number)
It soons becomes repetitive: playing the 2nd master, it becomes already the same ever and ever.
Lastly, if you win or not seems to be determined half by choices and half by chancs. Not for me.
So, i decided not to go on to see what is the remaining part of the game.
This title is a nice little roguelike. There is plenty to unlock, the strategy elements have a depth to them which rewards replaying while still lending itself to a more casual playing. This is a fun title which rewards both casual and committed gameplay, well worth adding to your library.
