Really rewarding dungeon crawler!
I literally just finished the game, after finding it in my back catalog for some time now. It's a shame that the top review is 2 stars as it's really not quite accurate. I rate LoG as a solid 4.5/5 When I first tried the game I thought it was really hard and couldnt really get the hang of it and put it on the back burner. I'm really glad I picked it back up. The majority of the puzzles in the game were just right for me, not ridiculously difficult or obtuse like I dunno Riven, which I had to give up on. I could figure out most puzzles on my own and if I was stumped I looked at a walkthrough after some time. I was really proud of myself for solving a few of the puzzles by myself as they seemed very difficult. So overall the puzzles are great. The character progression isn't that good however. The leveling system is wholly meh, and I never really felt like I was getting much more powerful except with my mage and I wish I had more skillpoints for my rogue as I could never develop her into anything specialized. Combat is initially really hard, but if it clicks it can be pretty fun. It relys around strafing and attacking, trying not to get hit. This is kind of hard to get used to as you would think your warriors are there to tank, but really you're not supposed to be getting hit at all in a perfect fight. It's fast paced so anyone looking for a slower experience wont like the combat. Once I got the hang of it it was fine.
