Legend of Grimrock is a dungeon crawling role playing game with an oldschool heart mated with modern execution. A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exile to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to the captives, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations of days long past. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom, the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level.
The game brings back an oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration, and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords would be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode, which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready for some classic dungeon-crawling first person perspective party-based RPG action? Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock?
Use the Dungeon Editor to build entirely new adventures and challenges for other players to solve!
Explore a vast network of ancient tunnels, discover secrets, and find a way to survive in the perilous dungeons of Mount Grimrock.
Cast spells with runes, craft potions with herbs, and fight murderous monsters with a wide variety of weapons.
Create a party of four characters and customize them with different races, classes, skills, and traits.
Pure-blooded dungeon crawling game with grid-based movement and thousands of squares, riddled with hidden switches, pressure plates, sliding walls, floating crystals, forgotten altars, trapdoors, and more.

I'll keep it short, but LOG is the most boring and unimaginative Dungeon Crawler I've played and I've play many over the years. There's plenty of 5 star reviews, but not enough low star reviews, more people need to speak up.
I have played it for half an hour, and may not qualify to post a review, let alone a review from trolls like JerrySeinfeld01 who bashed the game based on a minute worth of playthrough (I'm being optimist with the play-time here).
Anyway, when the devs claimed its 'old school', they literally nailed it. Never had this mix of nostalgic feeling while having a current-gen experience at the same time. Considering its a four person team which pulled it off, I say an appreciation is in order. Very well done guys.
5 Stars: For the effort, for the quality, and for negating score posted by JerrySeinfeld01
This game is unique in its goal to update old dungeon crawlers of the past. Having my share of those, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, I gave up after only two levels. The exploring and puzzle-solving are nice. Combat, on the other hand, is not. Eager to keep nostalgia to maximum, they made a beautiful-looking game that you simply doesn't look at. I cannot recall what the enemies were actually doing against me, because I spend all combats looking to the bottom right of the screen, waiting to click again and attack. The worst offender is the magic system, where you have to click several times in tiny squares to cast an spell. So, it quickly becomes a boring clickfest. It seems that you could program keyboard hotkeys with AutoHotKey, but I'm not willing to spend time tinkering with something the developers could have made available (as an option, at least).
Game is great for 30 minutes..then if you are unlucky you can't make it past 2nd level because of a timing bug. This is not my system specs, they all are in excess of min req. plus i tried turning all graphics down to lowest and made sure noone was encumbered. It is clearly some kind of bug. There are many complaints in threads on internet, I would advise anyone NOT TO BUY THIS GAME until you find something in writing from developers stating this is fixed.. Consider yourself warned
found this very awkward and oh so not intuitive, tedious and difficult to sink my teeth into, i get it...it's not DOOM but i have played dungeon crawlers before and this one just isn't properly tuned or something? this review is more of a 1st impression review than anything else simply because i lost interest due to frustration. i don't have much free time to play games because i work a lot so a game has about half an hour to impress me, this game failed. but just because it's not my cup of tea doesn't mean it won't be yours? get it on sale though!
