Legend of Grimrock

Just woke up at 6.30 AM today and all I wanna do is play this game (and not go to work). Believe me, it's been a while since I've literally wanted to finish a game in one sitting. And it's been a while since I last had the time to do so, but that is another story...

I just about always finish every game I start, but I'm never going to finish this. An absolute monstrosity of a game, and not in a good way, it has hideous controls, stupid timed puzzles that are all the same on every level, pixel hunting for ridiculous broken stones so you can continue on, and a combat system that requires you to wait for your weapons to 'light up' again before you can use them -- meanwhile, you're being hacked to bits by monsters that get 3 weapon hits to every one of yours. Beyond stupid. I ditched it at the third level and I won't be going back to it as it's been a long time since I've played a game with such bad controls. A pity, as it looked amazing but it's really not.

Just played for an hour, and have to say the nailed the good old feel from Dungeon Master. Awesome!

This is a real-time dance puzzle game, combined with seeking pattern-differences and hidden buttons on the walls. Magic requires real-time rune selection making casters a liability, rogues are just another melee there's no thieving. There's no story to speak of. This game is as far removed from an RPG as it's possible to be.
