Soul Reaver 2 picks up where Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver left off, with Raziel having just plunged through the Chronoplast time portal in his relentless pursuit of Kain. Over the course of his quest for revenge, Raziel must unearth the mysteries of Nosgoth’s ancient races, expose the machinations behind the corruption of the Pillars, and the vampire genocide. Throughout the game, Raziel acquires numerous new abilities, weapon enhancements, and spells, all of which are critical to the completion of his epic adventure.
Soul Reaver is a third-person combat adventure filled with devious puzzles and kick-ass combat. Fly, swim, jump, and even travel from the material world to the spectral realm to overcome obstacles and conquer your enemies. With over 40 abilities to choose from, no two fights will ever be the same.
Are you ready to bring an end to the Legacy of Kain?
Acquire new and improved Soul Reaver weapon enhancements, physical abilities, and relics to interact with the environment and unlock the dark secrets of Nosgoth.
Play through a gorgeous gothic realm of highly detailed architecture and environments, with an appropriately baroque plot as well.
Devour the souls of new enemies including vampire hunters, Sarafan warrior-priests, and extra-dimensional demons.
Amazing game that does a wonderful job of carrying the series further. It'd be great for them to complete the whole series on here, especially with Blood Omen where it all began.
I played this game along with the others in the Legacy of Kain series growing up and all of them are among the best games I have ever played. Yeah, the combat and graphics show age by today's standards but the one thing all of these games have is a unique storyline and amazing voice acting. It's a story of betrayal, revenge, and rebirth and this is the most compelling entry in the saga. Continuing right where Soul Reaver left off and improving on everything from the last game, Raziel continues his quest to reap revenge over his nemesis, (and best vampire ever) Kain. But through this well thought out story things will twist, turn, and create a soul sucking experience that will leave you wanting more. Having played and completed this game as a child on console, I bought this for PC to relive the experience. Even without my nostalgia-goggles, the game still holds up as a solid single player adventure experience that outrivals even games today.
If you have never played this game, buy it. The $5 is definitely worth it.
Hopefully with some support they may finally make another game in the series or even just a fan made game. JUST SOMETHING!!!!!!!
So yeah.. it's a Tomb Raider'esque thing with a vampire, dual-world gameplay and a good story. Sold? Good. It also has terrible controls and suffers from cut-content. Still sold? Good.
The thing with Soul Reaver is it's uniqueness in assembling parts that are not that unique. We've all done 3rd person jumping and fighting, collected souls and shifted between worlds, but not maybe in the same game in the same bizarre universe. A recommended journey with some beauty flaws.
