I heard amazing things about this game but was skepitcal what they could accomplish with the pixelated graphics. I was so wrong. I'm still impressed with the atmosphere that they created with 8 bits. I even actually jumped several times during this. It feels like playing a Edgar Allen Poe or Lovecraft story. The story is compelling and I couldn't wait to finish the next chapter.
it was really great immerse experience, despite pixels.
ending (like always imho these days ) fallen short and too soon. but it was great enjonable experience nontheles.
The game itself is great, and the soundtrack reflects all the emotions that you should feel during scenes. I would say that the later episodes begin to get a little obtuse in their puzzle solutions, but it's not nearly as bad as one would think. The biggest critique I have about the game is its over-reliance on jumpscares. They certainly get old after multiple in the same episode.
So good it makes me forget diappointments like Hob's Barrow and The Sinking City.
The Last Door is how to do Lovecraftian right. And how to do point & click adventures right. Because here's a shocker: I managed to get through the entire game without a single peek at a walkthrough. If that alone isn't worth a 10/20 i dunno what is.
