Another cigarette tumbles into the abyss. The sun is slowly coming up,
glistening in the sea of buildings below.
I look up at the stars one last time before they disappear.
They don't provide any guidance. They don't give a f*ck.
I have to make this decision on my own, and very soon. Problem is, I don't know how.
I've never been able to figure out why I do what I do. Not really.
No more time to think. I have to go.
Here’s the deal
You are Neil Conrad, CDI agent. Awoken by the news of a murder, you rush into a case that will soon turn your life and the whole solar system upside down. Ask questions, collect evidence, and put the pieces together until the ugly truth reveals itself... or not.
No takebacks
The story branches and ends based on your actions. There's no going back. Sure, you can rush your way to the end – if you don't mind paying the price. Play your cards right, and you might make it out alive.
How far will you go?
Some questions don't have a right answer. Will you sell out a friend to protect your family? Will you endanger a loved one in exchange for public safety? Will you keep the peace or reveal the horrible, world-shattering truth?
Hungry for Point & Click Adventure?
While the classics were great in their time, Lacuna does away with the baggage of many adventure game tropes:
Pointing & clicking Platformer movement controls (WASD / controller)
Selecting all dialog options one by one anyway Non-repeating conversations and choices
Inventory management and counter-intuitive puzzles Immersive, story-driven mysteries
Pixel hunting Optional outlines on anything interactable
Story grinds to a halt at every puzzle can always be driven forward
"x will remember this" Real choices and multiple endings

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
A detective game with a good narrative and pixel based art. I finished the game in about 7 hrs, would definitely recommend if you like detective games.
I got this game for free some time ago, maybe years, i recently played it and was surprise to see that it was this good the only con is that the story is a bit fast for the conclusion but man did it push me to buy your other game Between horizons X)
So i don't really like intro section with a girl that has nothing to do with the game or the story
very 2/10 gameplay with shitty world building that barely ties itself to the rest of the game
Actual game - where it would be nice to start the adventure gets better
Not much better, but at least i play as actual protagonist
World Building is getting interesting, so there are social classes where people can fall and basic income as lore-fact
we are investigating the murder case which Again GOING BACK TO INTRO BOMB ATTACK!
makes you wonder if you play completely different game???
There is a conspiracy chain type of plot, but again, isn't my entire country at war, why wouldn't i be assigned to civil protection or military intel operations??
don't get me wrong game is kind of nice and trying to be NOIR
but everything is undermined by attempt to give me some mud dogwater intro daughter which never came up again!
if i sounds super focused on this... i just trying to tie informations from the case and witnesses together with what i know from before
and 1st scenes are literally how i entered the world...if developers would be half as invested in 1st scenes i would be less frustrated now
Game have nice visual design
objects shows when there is a stairs or doors, there is a lot of small animated indicators
music and sound is basic
i don't wanna neglect any efforts put into this, its just not something i might wanna listen like Hotline miami or Party Hard soundtrack
Graphics are pixel style ok things - its type of the look that if you would make this game 30 years ago it would be masterclass cool game
Character Monologues add a lot to the climate - they kind of solo lift the game from dog water
Detective work seems kind of basic, like yes i can select wrong witness, wrong place or person, but i feel very rail roaded to correct solutions (not tried to select wrong on purpose)
so far i spend 3 hours in the game and its Meh+
