Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra

The separate Castlevania and contra collections are a better deal because they regularly go on sale and you don't pay much more than this collection and you get way more games plus a digital history book. Konami should take this collection down and just promote the others 2.

These games are basically the NES versions from the first 3 castlevania games and the first 2 Contra games, nothing more, no special Japanese background animations in Contra, no quality of life options in castlevania, it's quite close to the original experience, just get yourself an usb nes controller and enjoy, it's really easy to configure the controller in the options menu

Note that this is a straight GOG distribution from the original distribution and this version has not really gotten some touch up or improvements. If you already own the original collection on CD, don't bother.

I remember completing certain parts of some of these and just screaming with joy because I survived somehow. Other times I remember screaming at the screen because I died and I was mad how unfair it was. Such blasts from the past.
