Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra

This package contains Castelvania 3 only in its censored version (US or international version). 'Castlevania Anniversary Collection' contains both versions.

A wonderful surprise! Alone the Contra-Games are great and i played Probotector a lot on the old NES. I can now play the classic Castlevania-Games. It's a good collection.

I loved the first three Castlevanias and Contra on my ol' NES back in the early 1990s. While this collection ain't perfect, it's a pretty good deal at only $6. The Castlevania trilogy looks and plays pretty close to the old NES carts I enjoyed as a teen. I was never big on Super C, but still very much enjoy the original Contra. My biggest gripe being the dead D-pad in exchange for an analog stick. Thankfully, my Logitech F310 allows me to swap out analog stick for D-pad movement, which I'm more accustomed to. And yes, the Konami 30 lives code for Contra still works. Not a bad deal for $6.

It's a decent little collection, albeit a bit basic in terms of presentation. What's on offer here are all winners, even the secret game Jackal. You'll find no special screen filters or a rewind gimmick, as this is an older compilation.

This has always been my favorite Konami collection...The best nes collection of the series to date imop, then an update today that added instructions on how to play anthoer nes title I love ....Jackel! As much as I"ve played this collection ,I didn't know it included it, totally made my day!
