An improved Heroes
Very addictive, atemporal gem, a kind of hard

Great game
The game is done with a lot of atention to detail. The units, skills, environments, spells are all very diverse and although the game is quite long it doesn't get boring or repetitive.

Not a Clone!
This game is based on the original title, which was released before HoMaM by the same company. King's Bounty was the building block for HoMaM in every way. In the original, however, you didn't get to choose whichever player you wanted. You were set with what they gave you. The game wasn't improved until the original HoMaM came out years later. If you're one of the people that think this is a clone, than do some research and check out the original game.

Some bizarre design
The game is basically Heroes of Might and Magic, a game series I´m not realllly into, but I'm always up to give games a chance to show me what they bring into a genre, specially if is a freebie. Unfortunately the game is not a revolutionary take so I'm not sold on it. + nice graphics: of course they are 2008 graphics but they are still quite nice + full camera rotation and no fog of war so you can scout the whole area and see enemies and treasure from far away + I had a little bit of fun spamming spells with the mage - no controls or keybinnd settings, aparently you are supposed to play it only with the mouse? - very little character customization: you choose a class, a name and a crest, that's it, there are no races, no stat allocation, hardly a RPG in this aspect - Pixel hunting at its worst: some tresures are shiny and esay to see, even the buried treasure shines if you get close enough, but there are some intereactable items that are sneakily put on the map, I accidentally picked up a spider egg and that's how I found out there are spider nests, which are small and hard to see, this only made me question if there are more interactable objets I never saw - At 1440p the font is small, very small - During battles you can get additional treasure by interacting with chests in the battlefield, but enemies can steal the treasure or you can end up killing all the enemies before grabbing it, in this cases the treasure is permanently lost. Sometimes these treasures contain runes that are vital for character progression, and since enemies don't respawn, well, it sucks to be you. In the end, is another take on HoMaM that doesn't bring much new to the table and instead shows its aged design , maybe you'll find it more enjoyable if you are a fan of the genre, but I'm not.
