Weakest of the series, but still good
Compared to the original and Frontiers, this one feels shorter and less satisfying overall. Most abilities are overpriced relative to their effect, so the best strategy is usually just to buy another tower. This is compounded by the fact that there are multiple enemy types that can bypass your barracks, so you want your power spread out. The stages seem a lot shorter than the previous games (especially the heroic and iron challenges), so that you will rarely earn enough money to make use of special abilities anyway. Heroes in Origins are more powerful than in the previous games. Each hero has a unique ability, giving you a third cooldown in addition to the rain of fire and reinforcements. As a result there is more emphasis on timely use of powers and careful hero use, and tower choice seems less important. On the hardest difficulty, some stages appear to be impossible without using the right hero. Overall this one just feels a little less inspired than the other two, with slightly less consistent difficulty and tower balance, and shorter levels. It's still worth the money if you've already played the other two and want more.
