Kingdom: New Lands

In a fantastic medieval world, alone against the unknown. Set up a camp and explored this unknown island, to discover a disturbing structure, are we alone? The sun will soon set, you must protect your new kingdom! The night is coming, everyone gathered around the fire to stay alert to the danger... All is well the sun finally rises, but a defense must be organized quickly. This fun and enjoyable game, and you would never escape from Skull Island! A small reproach, there is no Safeguard and the game can become very difficult. I think the user should have a choice. Je pense que l’utilisateur devrait avoir le choix. This is a perfect game if you are looking for chill out rather than hours of incessant & intentsive gameplay. Soundtrack is soothing, bewitching pixel art, it is rather impossible to tell that the game has some kind of lore though. Basically all you do is collecting gold and spending it to develop buildings. Thats all the gameplay. But it's still really enjoyable if you just want to take a break from work/studying or whatever bothers you at the moment. Ofc the game has some bitter randomness (like everything in this genre). Original kingdom game is included as well. Also shout out to devs for porting it to linux & mac, very appreciated.

What a garbage game. It looks great, the pixel art and reflections are really cool. Manually hiring guys to do stuff feels pretty good. But they are morons. Archers literally surrounded by half a dozen rabbits and they won't shoot them. Very little explanation of what anything is. No UI, no counter for how many workers/archers/farmers you have. If you want a managerial game that is 100% dependent on brain dead AI, go for it. This just feels like some mobile ported game with very little effort to elevate it. You finished the first island, it says the crown is safe. Ok.. I'm clicking, hitting escape, enter, space bar.. trying to go to the next phase or whatever. I have to google only to find other posts of people confused, thinking it's an infinite screen or bugged. You have to hold down arrow to go to the next island, but it doesn't tell you that. There is so much potential here to be a fun addictive game but it's extremely frustrating. I don't want to look up min/max meta guides on how to beat the game, that's not fun. And this should be a fun game, not an annoyance.

Stunning visuals and sounds and music. Great gameplay. Four stars because it is GReat, but could really use a few tweaks. If you loved this game, or probably would love it but arent good at bRutal games, I highly recommend the sequal/remake Kingdom: Two crowns. This game as a standalone is still a seperate game from K2C, i recommend owning both games. :) Important notes about the game to clear predicted confusion and disenjoyment: DoNot send your builders to chop a tree too far out, or too close to a portal or they will blindly run out at night and get rekt, and more, and more, builders will try to finish the job, until you have no more builders, etc. you CANNOT undo a command so BE careful. :/ (Winter comes at about 30? days in, get outta there before the snow falls.) Bloodmoons (i think) appear about every (um i forgot)6 days, give or take a day, rarely give or take 2 days. DoNot attack a portal and get a retaliation wave at the same time as a bloodmoon, it will wipe out your kingdom. Best time to attack a portal is Right after a bloodmoon. Have fun~

No matter how many times you start a new King/Queen, you'll have this "Ghost" forcing you not to travel "too far" from the base, forcing you to hit a glass wall, even if there's a chest full of coins just a few steps past it. To top that off, the AI for the troops is really random. At first, it seemed that every other archer/builder would go to the other side of the base, but then you'll notice that a builder on the far left will start running to the right and one on the right will run to the left, so the wall don't get built in time due to the distance traveled and the archers are all killed because they'll take "cover" behind the unfinished wall instead of the perfectly fine one a few steps behind them. I've also has islands with no Trader. Not ones where I destroyed his camp, but ones where he was never there to begin with, which assures your game will end with a lack of funds. Very bad balance, horribly AI. 1 Star.
