Game:

You're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Thrust into a raging civil war, you watch helplessly as invaders storm your village and slaughter your friends and family. Narrowly escaping the brutal attack, you grab your sword to fight back. Avenge the death of your parents and help repel the invading forces!

Story:

Bohemia – located in the heart of Europe, the region is rich in culture, silver, and sprawling castles. The death of its beloved ruler, Emperor Charles IV, has plunged the kingdom into dark times: war, corruption, and discord are tearing this jewel of the Holy Roman Empire apart. One of Charles' sons, Wenceslas, has inherited the crown. Unlike his father, Wenceslas is a naive, self-indulgent, unambitious monarch. His half-brother and King of Hungary, Sigismund the Red Fox, senses weakness in Wenceslas. Feigning good will, Sigismund travels to Bohemia and kidnaps his half-brother. With no king on the throne, Sigismund is now free to plunder Bohemia and seize its riches.

In the midst of this chaos, you're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Your peaceful life is shattered when a mercenary raid, ordered by King Sigismund himself, burns your village to the ground. By bittersweet fortune, you are one of the few survivors of this massacre.

Without a home, family, or future you end up in the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla, who is forming a resistance against the invasion. Fate drags you into this bloody conflict and shoves you into a raging civil war, where you help fight for the future of Bohemia.
  • Massive realistic open world: Majestic castles, vast fields, all rendered in stunning high-end graphics.
  • Non-linear story: Solve quests in multiple ways, then face the consequences of your decisions.
  • Challenging combat: Distance, stealth, or melee. Choose your weapons and execute dozens of unique combos in battles that are as thrilling as they are merciless.
  • Character development: Improve your skills, earn new perks, and forge and upgrade your equipment.
  • Dynamic world: Your actions influence the reactions of the people around you. Fight, steal, seduce, threaten, persuade, or bribe. It’s all up to you.
  • Historical accuracy: Meet real historical characters and experience the genuine look and feel of medieval Bohemia.

A masterpiece!

I'm a late comer to this game so most of the bugs I've heard about are gone at this point. I really put off this game for a very long time after playing the intro sequence thinking the gameplay is really janky and bad. But I finally decided to sit down and play. I pretty much just dropped everything and couldn't stop playing this for weeks. The story, the setting, the gameplay and the characters draw you in almost at once. The setting feels realistic and immersive. The gameplay progression feels natural and smooth. The more you practice a skill, the better you will be at it. You can understand every character's actions and reasoning behind them. No ridiculous out of character things in this game. If you are a fan of the middle ages and want a semi realistic depiction of the lifestyles back then, look no further. I'll be buying all of the DLCs and play it again on hardcore mode. And I can't wait for the next installment to this wonderful series.

Enjoyed it

Really enjoyable game. Took a while to get the hang of it, but once you understand how it works it's a lot of fun. I see many of the negative reviews focus on either the save system (you can save and exit, noobs!), or how things aren't one click or how the game doesn't hold your hand. If these are the type of things that bug you, go play Assassin's Creed or some such. Anyway, I played the game with all the DLCs, and it's a blast. Not always easy, and sometimes you make the wrong choice but hell that's just a reason to replay the game differently. Made me interested in early 15th century Czechoslovakia and appreciated the type of life folks lived in that age. There are some seriously fun missions, and when you get powerful enough then bashing bandits is verily enjoyable. As with my other reviews, would post more tweak the review but I'm drunk so whatever deal with it.

Best RPG of 2018

I backed this game, so I had to play it on Steam, but I plan to buy the game here as well. I am not a fan of Bethesda games, yet I allways wanted games like Skyrim, but good. And I feel like Kingdome Come is that game. First part is very story driven and gives great introduction to the game. After that, you are mostly on your own, but still guided by important quests. As expected from Vavras game, it has solid writing with humor and beleivable characters. Graphics is also great and when you are exploring medieval Bohemia with beatuful music, you sometimes forget, that you have work to do :) Some reviews reported, that this game is "hardcore", but in regular mode its not true. You have to manage your food, sleep and save schedule (not even that after patches), but there are many free pots and bads, tahts not a big issue. But I can see some people get lost in the gameplay and forget to save and were angry when died. Combat suposed to be a huge feature for this game, but I wasnt that impressed. Its not bad, its works well for this game, but I expected more after the hype. Now to the negatives. Its an RPG and you are getting better as you progress the game, so game feels easier the more you play. I would prefer better scaling, so you are challanged more in the later stages. Some people reported serious bugs, but I have only encountered minor graphical glitches, so I cant confirm that. Also DLCs seems to be a bit on the weak side, but again I didnt play those yet, but there are already sales for these so hopefuly its worth it in sale.

Simply Amazing

This is one of the better RPG's I've played in recent years. Enjoyed this more than the Witcher 3! It's realistic and engaging. Very immersive stuff.. I loved the evolving combat system and the fact that your character is a complete potato at first. You genuinely feel your character learning and getting stronger. Armour in the game is actually really important, it's not just a game based on stats like every other RPG in the world.. combat is realistic and armour will actually save your life. Highly recommended!!!!!

Waste of an Open World

This game really, strongly expects you to stick to the main storyline as much as possible. If you don't, you'll be wandering around a mostly empty world, occasionally punctuated by random encounters that are either way too easy, or way too hard.
