Description
  • Critically Acclaimed Story – Join Jonas as he confronts his personal demons in order help save himself from his own destructive alcoholism
  • Eerie Soundtrack – Listen to the haunting soundtrack that immerses you in the game
  • Memorable Experience – Characters and emotions that will stick with you, long after you complete the game

If you awoke in a dark world plagued by beasts and demons, what would you do?

Keep in Mind: Remastered follows Jonas, a man haunted by alcoholism, depression, and grief. One night, he awakens to a shadowy mirror world where beasts lurk and the stars don't shine. Lost and scared, Jonas must face all those twisted beasts if he ever wishes to return home and learn the truth about his darkness.

Keep in Mind is a psychological indie game that follows Jonas, a man struggling with mental illness, on a journey of reflection and emotional healing. This game was created for those who struggle with mental illness or those who find themselves lost in the dark. This game is meant to be a therapeutic experience, but because of its sensitive and controversial content, some audiences may want to be wary.

Keep in Mind: Remastered takes the critically acclaimed Game Jolt version of the game and revamps it with a new engine, bug fixes, and brand new professionally composed soundtrack.

Actually very good - It spoke to me.

I bought this as I'm waiting for a 80gb game to download and it was cheap. Plus I love pixel based retro style games. This game is really a kind of interactive short story, but don't let that put you off. It's short, but again, the story is whats important and I thought it was excellent. I feel it spoke to me directly. The messege of someone that has to banish their demons (I'm trying not to spoil it), really resonated with me. I've done things that I'm not proud of that have weighed me down for years from military service to prison, and I've gone through alot of what this character has. I was actually a bit upset by the end, it really hit me a little. Graphics are basic, but that's the games style rather than a lack of effort by the developers. There's a certain artistic quality to simplified pixel based games in a world of AAAA+ unity and unreal assets. The developers and mature players who value such style are no doubt aware of this. But some people just don't understand or appreciate it. Well worth the price for the story alone. Musical score is excellent, as is the writing of the actual dialogue. Big thanks to the developers, this was a very nice surprise.

A kind reminder

It's no Undertale neither by lenght/complexity/storytelling but valuable/importance cannot be measured with sheer content, sometimes small bottles contain more potent substances. Sound fx and music are very good/engaging, animation clever but the graphics are stripped to the bone, feels like drawn in Logo or something equally old. Big plus for the message.

15-20 minutes hellscape walking tour

The game is very simple. You, a struggling alcoholic, explore one of your dreams, speaking with various demons, or rather listening on what they say. The graphics are plain but do the job. It would have been nice with something just a little bit better looking but I won't complain. The style suits the atmosphere. I like the sounds, the dialogue of and the design of the various demons as well. I really like that the game is so extremely simple. No attacks, experience points, meters or whatever. It just tells a story and tries to portay a troubled person.

Low-Mid Freeware RPG Maker equivalent

There's no game here - no choices to make, no way to lose, no player agency, no puzzles, no player skill required. There are nine 'areas', each roughly two screens wide and two tall, the player wanders through to find sixteen characters. Press the interact key to have them monolouge abstractly for a bit. The only valuable difference between 'playing' and watching a let's play of it is being able to time how quickly the text scrolls. It has a generally positive, if ham fisted, message. Reading the other reviews, it clearly speaks to some people more coherently and influencially than it did to me. The plot is that a drunk who is self medicating after 'something' has a nightmare full of personal demons (who stand around doing nothing). There, you can already extrapolate the whole story from that starting point - there's one of two narratives it'll fall in, and if you're reading these reviews you know it'll end generally positively which narrows it down to one potential narrative. Look, "Midnight Station" is free, has an almost completely novel plot, has a similarish minimalist art style, and features actual gameplay elements and problem solving that revolves around understanding the metaphysics and psychological/emotional connotations of plot elements. Play that instead. If you have a few bucks, "In Sound Mind" here on GoG is a fantastic exploration of people struggling with mental illnesses, try that instead.

I love when the abyss stares into me.

I cried at the end.... F***ing Jonas... Wake up before it's too late, brother. Wake up.
