If you awoke in a dark world plagued by beasts and demons, what would you do?
Keep in Mind: Remastered follows Jonas, a man haunted by alcoholism, depression, and grief. One night, he awakens to a shadowy mirror world where beasts lurk and the stars don't shine. Lost and scared, Jonas must face all those twisted beasts if he ever wishes to return home and learn the truth about his darkness.
Keep in Mind is a psychological indie game that follows Jonas, a man struggling with mental illness, on a journey of reflection and emotional healing. This game was created for those who struggle with mental illness or those who find themselves lost in the dark. This game is meant to be a therapeutic experience, but because of its sensitive and controversial content, some audiences may want to be wary.
Keep in Mind: Remastered takes the critically acclaimed Game Jolt version of the game and revamps it with a new engine, bug fixes, and brand new professionally composed soundtrack.
This little game reminded me of the early "tiny indie game" scene when I could download a bunch of short games and go through them like a short stories anthology. This one, while not in any way stellar, is certainly not bland, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it and decided to give it a try.
I greatly enjoyed this. This isn't what modern kids would consider a game, but it is. At first I thought I wasted my money. It's an interactive experience. It's short but that's ok. If you've ever experienced difficulty in life, it has an important message. Sometimes we could use a friendly reminder.
Keep in Mind has an extremely short overall playtime. It is soooo unbelievable short, that i thought I did something wrong in my first playthrough. The length of the game will absolutely conflict a lot of potentials gamer. The gameplay mechanics are basically a kind of an interactive movie or a walking simulator. However, personally I tend to give it a 3-star rating. The story and the plot are quite okay. Nothing overwhelming exceptional great, but it does its job. Keep in mind is not a milestone in gaming history but I played far worse games. The foundation is solid enough to enjoy about 30 minutes.

This was a very short but a very good to the point and well illustrated emotional game about a man with a lot of guilt after accidentally killing his baby brother (mother too?) when told to watch him, when just a child himself.
Im assuming the baby fell down or something simiilar.
He has carried this guilt and it has been turning his mind darker and then he started drinking and his marriage is starting to fail b/c of it.
Which is shows really well in game by all the 16 different monsters resembling all the memories and emotions that go hand in hand with such a traumatic incident and the often life long guilt that follows:
Regret
Self Denial
Panic
Guilt
Reclu*
Paranoia
Suppresion
Deca*
Anxiety (the sound effect fit that one really well I thought!)
Self Loathing
Hopelessness
Addic*
Neurotocism
Burden
Resigna*
Himself reflected in the mirror
I really loved how it was all portrayed and he has to go and find those parts of himself and then in the big circle accept and make peace with each one and finally himself, to allow himself to heal and live again.
The monsters were great illustrations, and I loved the music and their sound effects.
Will get the dlc too to show support b/c this was a brilliant way to tell a story of guilt and forgiveness tbh!
Its very short, but also the perfect length. I sat with it for about an hour getting a cuppa in between, but it takes about ~20 of actual gameplay.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 but thats ok here b/c of its short length.
There are no keybinds or settings, you move around with wasd or arrows and talk with space, thats it :)
Great short game, loved the way the story was told and would love to see more from this dev!
Price is fair but also a bit in the cheap end tbh, it could go double imo.
Thats where the soundtrack come in then :)
For the money you get a good emotional story and hopefully sit in the end looking inwards for some of that forgiveness yourself.
