Your favorite smart-mouthed, kick-ass detective is back, and she’s in for a wild ride!
When this story begins, things are looking dire for private eye Kathy Rain. It’s the year 1998, and she is utterly broke: The Katmobile is running on fumes, the fridge is nearly empty, and an eviction is looming close.
However, opportunity arrives when a big cash reward is announced for solving the 'Soothsayer' case — a string of serial murders with a death grip on the metropolitan city of Kassidy.
With great reward comes great risk — will this be the case that defines Kathy’s career, or will she become the next victim of the Soothsayer?

Good game, nicely done followup to the first game. Kathy Rain herself is just as enjoyable, cool and refreshingly badass as she was in the original game.
The game is mostly more of the same - the graphics have improved a bit, the puzzles easy-ed up a bit, but the writing is on par.
I enjoyed the game, especially the ending, but I did feel occasionally that I was mostly clicking along with Kathys story, instead of actually participating in the game...
Really enjoyed this game and cannot recommend enough :) I've never been into point and click games beofre this series, but the spooky Twin Peaks vibe of these games is great. Hope to see more Kathy Rain's in future!!
It's a classic point & click adventure game. The vibes are very similar to the original Gabriel Knight 1 and that's high praise for me, since GK1 is one of my favorite games ever.
First of, the production values are really, really good. It's pixel art, but it's really good pixel art. Voice acting is great (especially the lead) and the music track fits the atmosphere.
The best part of the game is that it manages to keep the tension. My playthrough lasted almost 12 hours and there was no point where I thought it was starting to get boring.
If I had to offer some criticism, it's that: a) some of the characters are a little TOO stereotypical and B) I did not care about some of the puzzles which basically make you memorize and there's no way to check your notes or anything, a couple of puzzles are trial&error. Most of the puzzles are quite logical though and not too difficult. I would've liked just just a few more detective/deduction puzzles though.
Recommended if you like the old point&click adventure games and/or detective/mystery. I bought it at full price and binge played it over a period of 3 days.
If you like point-and-click adventures, you'll want to get Kathy Rain 2. I nearly played it straight thru beginning to end I was that invested in the story. The puzzles have been fun.
