Interstate ’76® The Arsenal

I loved playing this game as a kid and would like to revisit it, but I dread the headaches of fixing issues that should have been resolved before it was sold to users of today’s modern operating systems. However, as a community, we can come together and find a workaround. What worked for me might work for you as well. Let me share my two cents: Interstate '7s Arsenal possible fixes to get game functioning (not sure about if it fixes screen resolution or not) for Windows 11 users: Windows 11 Interstate '76 working (currently, no errors encountered since posting this guide) Windows 11 Interstate '76 Nitro fix: 1. Back-up game/installation directory 2. Download load https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1349-interstate-76-nitro-pack-aio-patch/ , and extract 3. Copy and paste all content from <> directory into Game directory, and overwrite 4. (I DID NOT run A3D_LIVE EXE, suspicious activity detected by anti-virus) Copy and paste A3D\a3d.dll in Windows\SysWOW64 5. Run game via nitro.exe or desktop shortcut 6. Enjoy :)

For anyone having graphics glitches or 'rainbow effects' on moving abjects, heres how to fix it .. You will need dgVoodoo as stated in another comment here. Extract that into the game Dir of choice, setup the parameters of dgVoodoo then do the following as well .. Creat a Batch Script in the game Dir .. *create with Notepad, use the following 4 lines, save, change .txt extension to .bat, put it in the main I76 install directory: ......................................... taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe start /w i76.exe -glide pause start explorer.exe ......................................... *Note - For Nitro, use: ......................................... taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe start /w nitro.exe -glide pause start explorer.exe ......................................... This works and I am now running in 1920x1200 with no problems :)

I was one of the original beta testers and got into the credits. FUN game for its time. I always wanted them to develop it further but it is what it is! Sank dozens of hours into it back in the day. Definitely worth a try now if you haven't tried it before. The music and funky characters are great. Story is captivating too. The physics are decent and you have plenty of weapons to choose from. Sort of like mad max but with bullets not in shortage. ;) Definitely worth it for the story alone.

The gog version of this game is a buggy pos that is hardly a shadow of the original experience. Even with the community fixes, you WILL run into problems that ruin the experience of the game. Here are a few: - AI controlled cars drive at a snail's pace if you use software rendering. This makes 'Follow Taurus' objectives painstakingly long. - The opengl render mod constantly crashes. - Driving slowly over seemingly harmless inclines can cause an unexpected jump that can take you to the moon and beyond. - Several jumps throughout the game are bugged, causing the car to drastically slow down for no reason, resulting in total failure and making some missions especially frustrating. I had to do mission 5 about 15 times simply because the game couldn't understand that I was going in a bee line and using all of my nitrous because I DIDN'T want to slow down. Do yourself a favour and run your original game CD in a windows 98 virtual machine.

This is the best! I love this game! The graphics may seem old but don't be fooled! This is best car fighting game out there! Graphics aren't everything y'know! The storyline is compellling! Its like something that no 70s B or even A movie producer could ever come up with no matter how hard they tried! This is the car game you must have!
