Have tried numerous workarounds, is a real headache to find one that works

Glitched to Unplayability
Unlike just about every other GoG version of every old game I've gotten, Interstate '76 has not been fixed to run properly on modern hardware, and has had this issue for years. If you get this game, be prepared to get your hands dirty trying to get it to run properly.

Good game, unplayable due to many bugs
This game is in my top 5. However the GOG version is buggy and unplayable, it has the same issues than the CD version i still have, many glitches make the car drive funny during cutscenes which sometimes lead to mission failure! And some other cars still drive crazy or slow during the mission. I do not believe this game was tested AT ALL. Not even the training session starts well. And i got some crashes launching some fights. Please GOG do something, i bought it again only to have it compatible with recent configs, and it's not at all the case. 3 years of comments complaining and nothing? Come on..

Superb game, BUT...
The game itself is fantastic, but it does not work properly on modern systems (even this GoG version). I was able to launch the game, but I was not able to play it for long. Crashing, game runs too fast etc. I am using Win 8 64bit. There is a Launcher (look for it in the community section) that supposedly makes the game playable for some people, but not for me. If you really want to run it properly you will need Windows XP (or 98). You can install XP on a Virtual Machine and play the game like that, but it is still helluva hassle to get it to run. So do it only if you desperately want to play this game. It really is sad that GoG released a version of this game that does not work properly.

No go for me
Tried every online fix for this game that I could find, including hip63 in the forums here, as well as Lightfoot's at interstate76.com, and nothing made it run properly on win7 64. It wasn't that they were totally useless, but every fix left at least one aspect of the game not functioning. I've purchased several games here at GOG and this is the first time it has been an epic fail. I am sad and would like my crummy $6 back.
