Interstate ’76® The Arsenal

I don't normally write reviews here as they limit the text so much but I thought I should for this game as I couldn't get the game to run properly and ended up giving up on it on mission 5. My problems is the driving mechanics are messed up with your AI driving partner driving very slow and physics for jumping and other things not working as they should. After doing research, this is something many will experience and is due to the framerate or the CPU cycles or something similar being too high on modern systems. Some can run the game fine though and others will experience other strange things like graphics problems or crashes. I tried some of the workarounds (downloaded a 3rd party launcher to slow things down) but that only helped a little. You might think the game could still be playable with slightly messed up physics but you won't be able to get past mission 5 as you must do a very long jump over a bridge that the bad physics will make impossible. The game wasn't interesting enough for me to keep devoting time to try and get it to work so I moved on. Just warning others, either pass on it or make sure it works right after purchasing it.

🦊 "Vixen I can smell you!" One of the best game's played in my youth. Very Cool! I'm waiting for a remake, and listen to the music. Please develop this on RTX-Gaming with the cool background from the original. In recent graphics this game will be a burner!

The gameplay is brilliant. I have loved this game since it first came out, and never found something that hooked me so much. But this... the graphics are bugged, and it seems unable to use the 3D engine introduced in Nitro Riders. It's a shame.

... if you have the right hardware. As other reviewers have noted, this release of Interstate 76 has serious issues running on modern computers. Without taking steps to slow down the in-game frame rate, the car physics, AI and mission scripting (among other things) are basically broken. Reading the GOG forum, it seems there are still no easy fixes. However, if you have access to an early Windows XP era computer, everything works great. There's no need for me to repeat all the positive reviews for this game, suffice it to say this is the pinnacle of car-combat games. I'll also add that the 'edgy'-style polygonal graphics have aged really well, and of course the game play is exactly as addictive as I remembered it. I installed it on my old Celeron laptop for a 'test', then I couldn't step away until Scene 5 when I flipped my car attempting that damned jump!

This game is broken. My oh my, how much I loved I'76 back in the day. Still think it is an incredible experience years later, however, this Win7 compatible game is anything but that. Colors are broken, cut-scenes due to processor speed/throttling are broken, driving mechanics/physics are broken. I tried to get my money back and was denied. Love gog.com, love CD Projekt, but sadly, hate this release...
