A True Classic
Here are my notes on this game: * Really nails the nostalgia notes * The Grail Diary PDF is awesome! I wish I had a real copy. * The attention to detail in the diary is top teir -> I love the hostry and the extra peek at the life of Henry Jones. It's so good. * Im also reminded how OLD this game is (1989) - for the era I'm very impressed by the pixel artwork. * The puzzles in this game are HARD and there are some very annoying parts Eg: Finding the books in Venice. * The game really makes you think... although it would have caused some major frustation back in the day but it also would have been fun playing with friends and brainstorming ideas on what to try next. It reminded me of when I was a kid playing the first Resident Evil with my friends. * The Catacombs section would have taken a long time to figure our through trial and error (I used a guide). * There was some really fun with with the puzzles and the actual grail diary which created an interesting way to play. * The skull music puzzle was difficult, even with a guide. * If you don't know exactly what you are doing there's going to be a lot of back and forth and backtracking which will eat up a lot of time. * Some areas appear important but they really aren't. * I feel like this would have been really hard for kids to beat back in the day. * If you are playing this without a guide you will need to be taking NOTES! * Well done - although this game can be super frustrating at times, its still an absolute classic. The music and visuals for the day were awesome and the addition of the grail diary is brilliant.
