Incoming + Incoming Forces

One of the first games I ever played on a computer. I spent many many hours playing RAGE's Incoming back in the day. When I found out that GOG had the game, I bought it instantly. Im quite disapointed though. The GOG version of the game is not the same as the one I played all those years ago. The version I used to play featured things like controllable human hovertanks with laser guns, not the threaded vehicles with rocket launchers presented to you in this version. Now, this might seem like a minior problem, but there are many small changes like that, and together they kill a lot of the nostalgia for me, unfortunately. The soundtrack is the exact one I remember though and is defenitely an amazing one. Great that it is included as a .mp3 download! Loving it, and it made it worth the purchase anyways. Had it been the version I remember, it would have been a strong 4 stars. Now I'll lower that to a 3, saved by the amazing soundtrack.

Have these on CD from when they came out originally, sadly they aren't tailored to work well on modern systems. Shame as used to really enjoy them. Requires additional software to get mouse working and even then they are difficult to balance between overly sensitive and unresponsive. If only they'd done some play testing and modified for todays hardware.

I got the game running smoothly in 1080p using dgVoodoo. I then started to play the game and suddenly realized that the mouse control is extremely delayed and often non-responsive. Apparently the only fix is changing the polling rate of your mouse to 125hz - that's great if you have a fancy gaming mouse that lets you do that. Unfortunately I don't, so I'm stuck either playing with the keyboard or I have to configure a joystick of some kind, and I refuse to buy a "gaming" mouse just for one game I paid $0.99 for. Shame really, because this game was pretty cool back in 1998. The music is still good though.

Win 10 64 Bit - AMD Radeon Graphics. I remember playing this game on Win 98 MANY years ago. Received it free on disc with an Acer computer... beat the original game and it took many hours when I was a kid. When I saw the game on GOG I decided to relive some nostalgia. $0.89 on sale? Sure, why not? I downloaded the file, and installed. On the initial run, I receive the error "CreateSurface for Z Buffer...". I tried to correct this with the atiumdag.dll that GOG offers for ATI cards (AMD Radeon is apparently ATI, so thought I'll give it a shot). No change to the error. Apparently there is DxWnd that can be used to correct the issue, but I have no idea how to configure it. I tried GOG's support, and after submitting the log and screenshot the system told me "Cannot create ticket". So, I simply stopped attempting to resolve it, and requested (and received) a refund. May try it again one of these days if I ever decide I want to fire up an old XP system or something. As it is right now for me, it is unusable.

Windows 7 64-Bit. Game speed is accelerated beyond playability, and the game crashes if you attempt to restrict it to a single CPU. Gave up after a few hours of trying to workaround. Was my favorite game back in the late 90s, but I guess it's not meant to be.
