Description
On June 22, 1941, Hitler's German forces attacked Russia's 2,000 mile-long home front and advanced on Moscow. The Russians put up a fierce resistance which finally ground the Nazi war machine to a halt. Vital to the resistance was the Ilyushin Sturmovik, the IL-2. It was an anti-tank aircraft hailed by the Russians.
The Russians called it "the flying tank", the Germans called it "Black Death", and you will call it the most exciting and realistic combat flight experience you've ever had.
Oleg Maddox’s world famous Il-2 Sturmovik™ series of flight simulators continues to expand. THE ww2 flight sim
If you're looking for a WW2 flight sim, get this, as it has everything you want... Once you get the AAA mod, you will even be able to fly the enola gay and boxcar and drop nuclear bombs. The only complaint I have is it's pretty much only Eastern Front, no real western front stuff... This has all of the IL-2 series in it though, so go for it, it's the most complete in aircraft listing to date...

Tops in its class for WW2 Flight Sims
Been playing the Series since 2001 like some other reveiwers and still love it. The game has a steep learning curve but you can you can do things in the game to make it easier. IL2 has a great online community to help with all aspects of the game too. The thing about this and other good WW2 flight sims is that you may not be able to get to fly all the planes you would want to in a particular game. That's just the current state of this Genre. so research before you buy, All the IL2 Series have incredible graphics, realistic and historically accurate flight models and aircraft, scenery plus you can get add-ons for skins, missions and campaigns, modding among other things from the online community. If you like this game, go check out the new IL2 Titles from 1C Studios(The Great Battle Series of Games, Planes and Campaigns)
