Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising
Description
In 2032 an Earth that knows only peace is forced to relearn the art of war.
Twenty years have passed since the population of Earth did a fine job of destroying nearly everything in one final struggle for power by the politicians and military leaders. Twenty years have been spent building a near Utopia, a society where currency and finance are irrelevant, a planet without hunger or poverty. All weapons have been destroyed to ensure peace. But hidden away in an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, a cabal of old-world magnates: ex-leaders, financiers, politicians, and despots, are planning a return to the greed fueled, hate filled past. And there in no way to fight them. Except this one last remaining Adaptive Cruiser – The Antaeus.
Antaeus Rising combines explosive action with powerful real-time strategy. Take command of powerful aircraft carrier/manufacturing platform. Create military units with your carrier using the most advanced nano-technology known by the modern world and lead an army against the forces of the Old World Cabal. Plan your assault from within your carrier and than enter your units for some third-person mayhem! The fate of world is in your hands, are you able to hold it?

A great game hybrid FPS/RTS
No, its not a Carrier Command remake, but it is a good FPS with some neat RTS elements attached. The plot is interesting with some great world building (I found myself actually watching them on YouTube the other day). But two elements frustrate 1. On some levels there are instant fail. Quick saves help with these, but you can get caught out and have to replay most of the level. 2. While HD is an option, with any screen resolution above 1024x768 (no matter the ratio), I found controls clipping off screen. So at time of writting you have to play it a little stretched in 1024x768. But its certainly worth playing

i played it till late.
up late a few nights playing this one. awesome gameplay. command your forces or take command your self. lots of toys to play with. lasers, cannon, machine guns, mortar, missles, cloaks, use your AI to help you defeat the evil forces growing around you. you will have access to more and more vehicles as as you get through the game.hovercraft, helicopters, planes, scout cars, and repair and recycler tanks. and of course upgrades. the "cult classic" of video games.

Awesome game
Aside from enemies not noticing your cloaked shadow or smoke emission, and AI refusing to go all-terrain, great game!

Aged well
I played this game some years ago, when the shelve price dropped. Its frantic action, visuals, voices and plot are excellent. So what gone wrong that made this game not a huge success? Simple: at that time people only wanted cooperative multi-player games!
