Great game, requires time and effort
This game is fantastic. The voice acting is superb and the game play is top-notch. It does require more time and effort than your typical FPS, though. (Sadly, I fear this means I'll never see it to the end. Such is life.)

Easy to learn, hard to master.
One of my most favorite games of long times past. It may appear simple on the surface, but reveals itself to be rather amazing once you delve deeper. The multiple solar systems, each connected by wormholes, give this game a surprising strategic depth. The genre's classic, Homeworld with it's 3d world, may be superior as far as tactical fleet management goes, but on the strategic side, you may find it rather limited, after you let Conquest show you what there is to offer.

Still great
I bought this on CD in 2001. Never regretted it for a second. The game itself is excellent, save perhaps for the final mission which is "too different, too late", but it fits the story. Would have been great to see a sequel.
