my opinion on bug game
For the 8 people that look at GOG reviews, Silksong is a masterpiece. I've gotten 90% completion so far and that was 100ish hours of gameplay for me. I did get the true ending alongside the normal ending. The majority of the fights are really well done and even though the new pogo and double damage can be hard to get used to, it makes sense in the context of Silksongs world. The movement feels so much more fluid than HK and they did a really good job of blending the different areas into other areas. It's a beautiful game and the music is lovely. One of my major complaints about silksong is the excessive use of gauntlets. For the first 70% of the game I excused it but by the time you get to endgame it's just pure frustration. I want to progress, I want to explore, I don't want to do a gauntlet for the 90th time. It wasn't enough to stop me from playing, and I am admittedly not the best player out there, but I totally see how it could turn someone else away from the game. If you do all the side stuff that's avalible to you before reaching the endgame, when you get to the endgame its...a little underwhelming? I'm not sure what the best phrasing is but I found it monotonous, Go here, talk to this guy, fight, fight, different gauntlet, fight, talk to this guy, fight, end of game. There are some really good moments if you go for true ending but I just found it a bit uninteresting and repetitive even thought the bosses for that section are objectively cool fights. Because they aren't broken up by anything that feels meaningful it's just back to back to back to back fights. There's like three bosses total that I think are just dogwater, other than that they did a great job keeping everything dynamic. solid 9/10 game. ALSO HORNET NEVER SAYS SHAW! NOT ONCE! THAT IS A MAJOR FAIL!!!!
