Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is an epic fantasy adventure and role-playing game by Lori Ann Cole and Corey Cole, creators of Quest for Glory, Shannara, Castle of Dr. Brain, and Mixed-Up Fairy Tales. Although Hero-U is not a direct sequel to the Quest for Glory games, it features the same mix of adventure, role-playing, humor, and immersive storytelling that we introduced in that series.
In Rogue to Redemption, Shawn O'Conner strives to become Rogue of the Year while exploring a mysterious castle, making friends and enemies, fighting deadly foes, and uncovering the secrets of his own hidden past. Meanwhile players will enjoy the rich and humorous dialogue and descriptions as they guide Shawn through his adventures.
During the day, Shawn attends classes at the University, practices his skills, and tries to make friends with other students. At night, it's time to pull out weapons, armor, and traps to explore the abandoned wine cellars, stunning sea caves, creepy catacombs, and deadly dungeon beneath Hero-U. Most combat is optional for those who prefer a pure adventure game, but there are ample rewards for those who choose to valorously fight the creatures that threaten the school and all of Sardonia.

I don't understand how people can put up with a protagonist so unlikable.
You alter ego is an idiot of epic proportions trying to fit jokes and puns in every single sentence.
And they are atrocious.
Also some of the remarks he's making while looking at the portraits in the school are ... disturbing.
I hope to be able to erase it form my memory as quickly as possible.
This is a weird game for these years.. Cute dialogues and characters but awkward movement and mechanics. Ugly fonts and animations. Bad scenery scaling for 1440p.
From the poor animations to the incredible overuse of terrible puns that wears on you quite fast, and the amateurish writing, this game is a massive disappointment.
Disregarding the 6 year kickstarter and 2 successful campaigns on there to make the game, and just judging the game on its merits still has it coming up way short.
I would be wary of all the 5 stars, and check out youtube yourself and judge. I, too, am a QFG fan, but the people who blindly give it 5 stars are quite possibly shills or haven't played the game at all I reckon. There aren't very many locations, and the combat is basic and bland. The writing, as mentioned is fairly amateurish, and even the cutscenes lag, though it's just a still picture where they're zoomed in and move the camera around. The developer also attacks and lies about customers who voice their dislike on steam. That should say a lot about the developer...
This one is a hot mess, that should be avoided. Maybe if it was a 1 dollar bundle game, rather than a 6 year development cycle having spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, costing 30 dollars at launch.
