Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is an epic fantasy adventure and role-playing game by Lori Ann Cole and Corey Cole, creators of Quest for Glory, Shannara, Castle of Dr. Brain, and Mixed-Up Fairy Tales. Although Hero-U is not a direct sequel to the Quest for Glory games, it features the same mix of adventure, role-playing, humor, and immersive storytelling that we introduced in that series.
In Rogue to Redemption, Shawn O'Conner strives to become Rogue of the Year while exploring a mysterious castle, making friends and enemies, fighting deadly foes, and uncovering the secrets of his own hidden past. Meanwhile players will enjoy the rich and humorous dialogue and descriptions as they guide Shawn through his adventures.
During the day, Shawn attends classes at the University, practices his skills, and tries to make friends with other students. At night, it's time to pull out weapons, armor, and traps to explore the abandoned wine cellars, stunning sea caves, creepy catacombs, and deadly dungeon beneath Hero-U. Most combat is optional for those who prefer a pure adventure game, but there are ample rewards for those who choose to valorously fight the creatures that threaten the school and all of Sardonia.

This game is like Monkey Island without the frustration. It's chicken soup on a cold day. It's cards with your grandma. It's the good old days as a game.
I've played for a couple hours over the course of a week but can't get into the game. The days in the game go so fast, and are so monotonous that it feels like my real life, which is what I was trying to escape in the first place.
There isn't enough time in the game to make money to buy the things the game seems to require from you, or to explore and try things out. I don't really understand what the point of it is or what overlying plot is. What's the point? Does it get better? So far I only gave it 4 stars out of respect to the developers. I'll gladly update if I ever try playing again and get to a point that's more bearable.
Have not played any of the QfG games (I'm firmly in the LucasArts camp), but as a fan of adventure and role playing games in general, I couldn't pass by this unique mix.
Two things that stood out to me are the beautiful vignettes the game presents to illustrate various situations as well as the writing. Even though there are many repeating actions, the writing is almost always unique and shows great attention to detail.
Both adventure and RPG elements are actually fairly light, but I loved the freedom the game offers and the rewards reaped through thorough exploration. Initially, I had been worried that the finite time available throughout the semester would force me to rush the game, but time management actually ended up being one of the fun elements. As time is only passing while actively doing stuff, gameplay itself is as slow or fast as you want it to be, but never stressful. So it was mostly deciding on how much time to allot to training, exploring and socializing. I put more emphasis on the latter two aspects, but with plenty of items granting various buffs, I even managed to max out a few of my skills and do well on many others.
Difficulty is moderate, and while the game does not hold the player's hand, it's also never unfair or illogical. Exploration and conversation usually yield enough hints to master the challenges the plot throws at you and provide a good deal of backstory on top. All in all, a soothing game that managed to draw me into its enchanting little world.
This is a wuite uniqe game. I don't think I have seen, por experienced anything like this before.
The game is interesting and really entertaining.
If you like RPGs,mixed with a little bit of ppoint and click, than you will like this for shure.
The only downsite for me is, that there are rather few moments, where you can really chos how to enflict the story.
There are some key moments in the game, where you can make important descisions, but for the most time it feels kind of straight forward.
