Hellpoint is a dark and challenging action RPG set in a heavily atmospheric sci-fi universe where the line between science and occultism is blurred.
Once a pinnacle of human achievement, the Irid Novo space station has fallen. Its ruins are now overrun by cruel interdimensional entities acting as puppets of the malevolent Cosmic Gods.
You have been created by the Author, organically printed on Irid Novo and sent on a mission to find out the unholy series of events that led to the catastrophic incident known as the Merge.
Irid Novo is a massive interconnected world full of mysteries, hidden passages and secrets within secrets - all for you to explore in any order you like. More dread and shivers awaits you as you travel deeper into the darkest corner of this forsaken colony.
Dozens of melee and ranged weapons and armor pieces to suit your playstyle. Every weapon has unique special abilities that unlock the more you fight with them.
A fascinating new sci fi universe reminiscent of classic sci-fi movies, set in the aftermath of a massive quantum cataclysm and complete with a deep lore and goosebump inducing soundtrack.
The space station orbits in real time around an ominous black hole that triggers various dynamic events such as boss appearances, horde assaults as well as modified enemy stats and positions.
If you are struggling, ask a friend to press Start to join in a couch coop session, or call for assistance online. The entire game can be completed uninterrupted in coop. The loot is shared, and the experience of local player two is saved and not watered down.

I think such a small team did a great job of a dark souls like game. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it quite challenging. Graphically looks great. Plays smooth and is respnsive. interesting areas.
BUT It has a lot of problems:
The difficulty is GREATLY determined by your level and development meaning that if you grind correctly and only for a short bit you will outclass the bosses.
There is a critical lack of enemy variety.
Its somewhat empty.
So level design is poor.
Quite unbalanced in ways.
Limited replayability.
Lack of variety of equpment.
Overall though I would recommend it if you like good old Dark Souls and want a challenging but also frustrating game at times.
This was my first souls like game, and i love it. I got all achivements on GOG. This is not perfect game, but very solid production. Can't wait for Hellpont 2.
A really good sci-fi soulslike. The game looks good, has a unique feel to it and a nice atmosphere. As with Dark Souls, the story is told mostly indirectly and is not essential for enjoying the game (although it certainly helped in my case). I've seen it compared to Dead Space -- I agree with this insofar as the game a place on a space station where a catastrophic event has already occurred, and you are tasked to figure out what happened.
The boss fights are for the most part easier than the ones in DS3, mainly because they don't have separate phases that need to be practiced (bosses use certain attacks only at low health, but that's it). On the other hand, some fights take place in extremely tight spaces, which raises the difficulty level a bit. There were only a few bosses that I had to actually practice for, particularly the fight for the complete true ending (which is difficult and really fun to master). This is another aspect of DS that the game creators got right: the bosses that are necessary for completing the game are manageable, whereas some of the optional ones provide a serious challenge.
There were many complaints about bugs shortly after launch. I think the developers handled this very well, providing frequent updates that dealt with the serious issues. Personally, I was determined to enjoy the game and had no problems doing so. The only serious bug I encountered was when a boss failed to drop a key item, which seemed to prevent further progress (this was fixed early on). I restarted, but kept the initial save, and later found out that the game can be completed even from that state, by accessing a late-game area first and progressing "backwards". Playing the game this way, unsure if it was even possible to complete, was perhaps even more fun than my original playthrough.
All in all, I highly recommend this game if you like soulslikes, occult sci-fi, or both.
What I love: Very responsive combat. So many games want to be a Souls-like but miss this important aspect. When you click the button, you character begins the animation immediately. There's no lag built into the game. It might seem like an easy thing but so many games miss this crucial aspect. The game is fun to play.
There are guns that change up the usual pace of combat. You can whack away till your stamina is dry, pelt enemies with your gun, then recharge with melee. The gameplay loop is very satisfying.
The major reason I love this is that it gets the atmosphere down pat. You have very differently designed areas even though it's all one space station. You're constantly having to explore but with the trepidation that the next enemy could whoop your behind. This game is as relentless. And the entire place is in a state of decrepitude. Its haunting.
What I don't love: Overused boss models. The bosses run from great to boring but the thing is that if you do the harder area first then you'll have seen the boss models and attacks as this follows the script of bosses becoming regular enemies. Just for that reason I'd suggest going to Ikari Walkways then Alma Mater when you get that option.
Graphics are so-so but it didn't really matter too much to me. I could live with it.
