EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
Those who had played closed and open beta updates, would know what I'm talking about. What was wrong with those old days of gwent? why should gwent team get this much of new sh*te in the game?why a game should change like 180 degrees from being great to awfulness. The new update for an old style player like me who would gladly play his cards in 3 rows, knew where to pass the round when got card advantage, knew what kinda cards his opponents have, the abilities and many etc.s has gone disastrous. I'm still giving two stars because of the perfect artwork and animation, if not i was willing to give it one.
No matter how much good will they put into Homecoming, I think it is safe to say Homecoming is a failure.
The art is godlike. The economy is very rewarding. It is easily the most generous card game ever.
The gameplay however, has become completely flavorless. Unique interactions and cards have all been replaced by small boost/damage effects, and that's 95% of cards. No more cool effects, less faction identity due to neutral imbalance, almost no archetypes. Only boost. And damage. Then you boost, and maybe Damage. Then Damage. Then Boost. Then Dama-
As a result, the community is shrinking.
After Homecoming's release, the hype faded away quickly. Twitch viewership is now inferior to what it was in CLOSED beta, two years ago. As of December 2018, it is impossible to find a stream to watch, especially in the afternoon, EU time - where most of the players come from. There were FAR more viewers during the content drought that led to Homecoming, than after its release in October.
Most streamers have left. The traffic on the Gwent subReddit is a shadow of its former self. There are much less players in-game. I have almost lost all hope, and I was one of those who stuck around durihng the 6-months content drought. There is new content coming and January and March, but it would need to be stellar for the game to live again.
