FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
I supported the game from first day. I paid for many of their crazy priced loot boxes/cegs.
but after a week i decided to take a break, a 2 years break...
it was a great game, exactly like Gwent in Witcher 3. its the whole reason i bought the game..
now? well.
I dont know what in the world this abomonation is, looks like another card game, but diffinetly not Gwent. gwent is gwent. this is bait and pull... why change it? why? for the love of god why?
Cd prject, i understand you spent time on this, but please please please, go back to classic gwent. i loved it because it was different from other card games and had good strategy to it. despite at the time people complained that monsters were op. i say that it was something anyone who played witcher 3 would have grasped it... now i dont know what this is. but i am done.. email us if you ever release Gwent as Gwent. thank you.
I have played Gwent since closed beta and have enjoyed every single version of the game prior to homecoming and have spent hundreds of dollars on the game. I have the full premium version of the homecoming cards (all from CB rewards), nearly level 100 from the old game and have even finished top 1000 before so I believe I can comment on how the game was and how the game currently is.
I have enjoyed the pre-homecoming Gwent thoroughly, 6/5 stars. There were some problems back then such as duplicating spies, scoia'tael spam, consume spam but the META was ok. People tend to overcome these problems and move on to a new META. People were playing multiple different decks and card tutors were helpful in deck thinning - IMHO. Old Gwent was FUN! There was life and variance in the old game.
This new version of Gwent (homecoming) is terrible in a sense that, they have removed silver cards, triplet bronze cards as well as tutors. Silver cards always had a place in the game, it was good with a sense of variance. Why were tutors and triplets removed, now we have a bunch of random bronzes we never want to pull. Where is the thinning? There is a certain enjoyment when you know where your cards are in the deck. It's all RNG now - a guessing game instead of a card game. The old game had the right balance between consistency and RNG.
The power structure current is also extremely boring - I am pinging a 4 strength card with 1 damage, what is the excitement of that? I know there is power creep, but old Gwent was much more satisfying.
Why was any of this not implemented in beta, you guys had two(2) years to sort this out. Only reason why we stayed was because you guys are CDPR, you guys have changed the core structure of Gwent so much, I would like to think that this is a case of bait and switch. Please guys, no one hated the old game that much, why wipe it completely off homecoming? Surely, there is a middle ground both sides can agree on.
- An extremely disappointed CDPR fan.
i really liked the way Beta Gwent played. Now its Thronebreaker but Multiplayer, if i want to play Thronebreaker i go and play THRONEBREAKER!
GIVE ME BACK MY GWENT!
I had a ton of fun playing gwent in the Witcher 3 and when I got invited to the beta I loved playing monster decks. I spent real money just to support the game, and had a full premium card deck. After the patch I got the scraps I could use to rebuild it but while looking at the cards, I realized the things I enjoyed were dumbed down or removed completely. Honestly I wouldn't have spent a dime if I knew they were going to change the game to this. I played several games, crafted a deck that was kind of similar to the deck I had but I didn't have nearly as much fun with it. I have uninstalled the game, best of luck but I won't be back unless the beta version is brought back.
