EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
The game is awesome. People say that it's "not Gwent anymore" or that it's "completely different game", but as long as you approach it with an open mind, you will enjoy it. In it's core, it's still the same Gwent. Gwent where sometimes you give up a battle to win a war. I will say that it's even more Gwent than before - thanks to the changes, factions actually have identity, going first is not as painful as it used to be and rows started mattering again. Visually it's much more appealing too - Gwent has the best card arts in whole card game market, thanks to the fact that they are bigger we can fully see how great they are. Some things changed, that's true. For example, usually core of your deck will consist of gold cards, while before golds were fillers that supported bronzes. But as long as you won't get overly nostalgic, you will enjoy the game. But you will know the best by checking it out yourself!
Would you rather see yourself if the update that fixed the biggest problems of Gwent is worth playing, or do you want to trust people who gave it 1 star literally on the same day the game was released (23rd October)? Ask yourself this question. If you decide to give it a try - see you on the battlefield!
I had never played The Witcher or Gwent before, and I see in the coments that the biggest problem with this game is that it was changed from what players were used to.
I don't mind about it because I had not played before, and I like the card game but the graphics could be much simpler.
A card game should be light enough to play in a smartphone, imo, and I can't run this on my PC because of the graphics requirement.
Talking about returning to the roots of the game, but making cards that burden the deck by only being effective against narrow array of things (weather and artifacts)? Lies.
Not even going to mention the mess that are power level now.
But you can keep listening only to those who praise you and not ones who criticise you, like with Bitcher3. Surely that is the only good way to improve your games.
