EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
I was playing beta more than 4 months and it was great. But now I really couldn't finish the tutorial, it was a 1-hour lagging torture. It's not even a Gwent now, it's a free Thronebreaker demo. I was playing beta on low graphics and had a great, fast experience, now with all these animations, I can't play it on my laptop, it's slideshow, even on low graphics. I didn't know that a field for a card game can look ugly, but now I know that it can. Can't play this now.

PEOPLE: Wow, GWENT is great, we love it!
CDPR: releases stand-alone GWENT game with substantial changes to original GWENT
PEOPLE: well, that's very different... but it's still a good game
CDPR: completely changes the game, crippling its core mechanics, introducing unwanted features, and making a card game that's unplayable with touch controls.

GWENT as it stands now has nothing of the original GWENT game found in the witcher. Where the original game was a game of strategy and outsmarting the opponent, the current one is a brawl where who lucked out the most wins. There are only 2 rows, melee and ranged, completelylimiting your strategy. The card abilities are risible and go completely against the idea of the original game. The game's useless animations will suck up most of your computer's power. The tutorial itself is bugged and wouldn't complete on my machine even i I won the battles. Rules like "tactical advantage" make no sense. Cards' powers are badly explained.
They picked a near-perfect and extremely fun game, and turned it into a pile of garbage. By ar the worst card game I have played.
