FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME

A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.

STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD

Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.

SKILL BEATS LUCK

Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.

MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY

Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.

EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY

Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.

NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS

You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?

The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.

It's not gwent anymore

It's odd that on release date a major patch is thrown changing absolutely everything about the game. All the beta testing and the feedback of the past months has been pretty much worthless. This version is a huge step backward because: - Gwent has always struggled with its UI, now is worse than ever - Gwent has always struggled laying out game information clearly, did you know that the number below your leader card is the number of mulligans you have? Or that clicking a card and then the graveyard discards that card? - We are back to having big balance problems, because this is not the game that has been under testing before and most importantly - We are going to miss Gwent, A LOT, because this is not the game we loved from the witcher All in all it seems we've entered the first stages of beta testing again, probably needs a couple more years to get in a polished enough state to be as enjoyable as old Gwent.

Welcome to the Mid-winter II

Dev wasted beta of 2 years. They did not understand charm of gwent at all. They experienced failure by the misrecognition in MW. However, they failed again in HC. RIP beta gwent.

Homecoming GWENT

Let's be honest - this is not the Beta we all loved (and hated, it was not all good, remember Sabbath going unchecked and wiping every single card you put on the board, If you have not included a very specific answer in your deck). I feel the nostalgia, it is still too early to shake off over 1000 hours of Beta GWENT. Still, Homecoming GWENT has made me emotional - you know, laughing fiendishly, when you know you already won the match, no matter what your opponent does next. Or full-blown shouting, when you see all your efforts have been futile. And that's what I want from a game - emotions - feeling stupid for misplaying, the joy of victory and the despair of a loss. Homecoming delivers all that. There are a lot of things the game lacks with this base set we've got at the moment. There are steps to be necessarily made by CDPR for it to become better. But If you want an f2p, strategic, extremely beautiful card game to enjoy, give it a try.

Good Game that needs some tweaking

Its a very good game, I have spent about 400 hours on it completely free of charge ( i bought the starters package to support cdpr though). They added new mechanics that ultimately add more depth and force every deck to be unique to some extend in order to fit the individual playstyle and current meta, all packaged by a provision system which allows instant and effective balance options for cdpr (as they have done with Artifacts in the latest hotfix Nov2018). It is difficult to transition from the beta to this as a lot is very similiar but a lot has also changed, though that process can actualy be fun- I had a couple of people add me after I tried out some wonky crap commenting on it, discussing how it could be improved- something that never happened during my 300 hours of beta. Theres quite some room for improvement- however in order to purposfully fix cards and expand the cardpool there needs to be a somewhat stable meta so either way we will have to wait and see. Otherwise: Game Mechanics are good, ton of new combinations still to discover, visuals and atmosphere are objectively better (unless you're a fan of post stamps), game runs stable and reliably with minor hick-ups And its still free. On top of that: considering how a company can monatize card games gwent is incredibly relaxed and generous. If the day comes where some CEO decides to milk the shit out of it I'd prolly get mad too but until then I will happily enjoy this game, support the company that made it and have patience with minor issues.

Beta > Final Version

it's ok that "Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales" don't satisfy the financial expectations, but why "The Witcher Card Game" has to suffer as a result? :/
