Months after the final release, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is still going strong. The minigame-turned-esport continually goes through iterations and patches, shedding skins and morphing into a real beast of a card game. It has a wistful past, a solid present, and a bright future.

It was better in BETA
Gwent was awesome in beta. My favorite card game of all time. I am very unhappy with how it is right now! My biggest problem are how they changed the leaders into stupid animated characters on the board. I hate the watered down leader abilities and that you can use them every round, it's just not exciting anymore as the game feels more casual and less strategic

You need to try this
I write this review after seen the low overall rating of the game in the store. I just didn't get it, then I noticed that most negative comments are about the changes during beta/realease. I did not play the beta, but man I've played the final version at let me tell you, it is simply amazing. Really nice learning curve for new players as well as pretty generous rate of collecting cards. The is also a in game deck builder guide so getting started is easier than ever (there is also a new expansion comming soon). Finally the community and dev team are amazing and super friendly. This is by far the best card game I've ever tried.

Had a lot more fun playing Gwent in Witcher 3. Has a nicer player base, too.

I miss the beta
because while this is much more streamlined, it feels like it has lost a lot of character in the prozess. While I'm sure that some like this better, for me everything just feels a little bit of. But if you never played the beta this is probably irrelevant to you.
